I do agree with what you are saying, and I have personally never have, and never will do drugs. (Except for one time when I got valium (they claim it was a non additictive form called verssaid, but I don't believe them, I don't think that is possible considering what it does) in a hospital before surgery to calm me down, but that was in a friggin hospital, I don't think that counts). Although we have to be careful not to make laws just on our own personal decisions. One has to consider the fact that other people have differing opinions and desires, and the goal should be to accomidate everyone without causing anyone discomfort. So for example, I don't mind if people drink, although if you get drunk and drive your car I will be pretty pissed, especially if you crash.

I have never done drugs, and never plan on doing any, but I think that if drugs are legalized, there may be some situations like drunk-driving accidents. The popularity could drop easily, and prices could become too high for a lot of people. There is a lot of good potential in drug legaliztion, but there is also plenty of bad potential as well.

That's so true. Marijunna for instance could be legalized. This would be good and bad. It would be good for people who are in extreme pain ( Paraplegics, People suffering with cancer, etc.). On the other hand, people could abuse it and just want to get "high".

One question is what would the age limit be for legalized drugs? Just like with 21 for drinking, would there be a 21 year-old limit for drugs like marijuana? Also, how would it affect the economy?

there would probably be an age limit at 21 or so if it was done. I think it would help the economy because we wouldn't be spending billions of dollars on the war against drugs and there is the money that would be made off of selling the drugs.

i actually think they should be legalized jus cuz if they are people wouldnt be going around trying to deal it illegally. but i think that they should have a license to sell the drugs and i think they should only distribute a certain amount of the drug to the person. Also they should be of 18 years or older. they need ID verification

lol the problem is nobody really cares about the rules. People still do drugs right now even though it's illegal. What makes you think that when they legalize drugs and set age limits and sanctions etc.. that people will follow those??

What is the use of legalizing drugs to implement a system in which there are "good and bad" prospects, when the system right now has equally "good and bad" prospects. Waste of everybody's tax money if you ask me.

OMG the ninjas

heck no. y'know what happens when you do drugs.
if drugs were legalized, people would start going crazy, killing people, doing suicide, and breaking other laws. so, i don't think it's a very good idea for drugs to be legalized, it's just bad.

so just because it's already happening means we should legalize it??

The whole point is to show what their stand on drugs are, they are against it. Legalizing it would just mean conforming in to the potheads. Which there are quite a few.

They do not want another epidemic such as the tobacco smoking era to happen, thus they are trying to prevent such measures from happening.

There's a reason it's illegal in the first place, they're not making it illegal just to piss you off and make it harder for you to get weed...

The percentage of people in a country that uses soft drugs like mary jane is higher in countries that have strickt laws against it than country were the drug policy is more liberal. thats a fact.. Just "google" it up..

More and more countries see that a war on drugs cannot be won. There for the only way to control drug-flow and use is to legalize it, there for controling it.

One thing that alot of people need to realize is that the Anti-drug propaganda stuff you are fed at school and on TV isn't entirely true. You arn't going to go crazy and start killing people if you are high. My biggest worry is if drugs were legalized that it might increase the ammount of people who drive while high. Although if there was serious drug education in schools prehaps more people would be smart enough to not do that (those who do drive while high/drunk probably make up a small percentage of those who do drugs/alcohol though). If you feed kids bullshit in school they are going to figure it out and then there is no way in hell that you will get them to listen to you.
