Okay...this has been one of the BIG discussons in my Anime Club for the past few weeks. I'm starting to get a headache over it, due to the shouting and constant disagreements, so I decided to post it here and hopefully get some opinions. *My head can't take it anymore*

The MAIN question:
What would happen if a Hyuuga and an Uchiha had a child?

The other questions:
-Which Bloodline would the kid get?
-Would the Sharingan and the Byakugan fuse together?
-If fused, what would it look like?
-Would the eyes be red, white, or a 'natural' color?
-Would one eye have the Byakugan and the other have the Sharingan?
-If it was a Branch member, would the Hyuuga Main House be brave *or stupid* enough to give it the curse?

...and others that will probably be brought up when discussing...

Well, a clan is a clan. They have been there for so many generation. I am sure there are some cross bloodline as well. But they still unique. So I think, the kids should follow the father bloodline as that is the tradition. Emm...also depend which bloodline have a stronger DNA. Don't think they will have two or something new.

Answers to the other questions.

1) I belive the child would get both limits, to call upon at either time.

2) I think that the child would have both, and they would remain seperate. I.E. the child can call forth Byakugan, and Sharingan, but never both at once.

3) See #2

4)I think the eyes would be a natural color until Sharingan or Byakugan is called.

5) No. When called, both eyes would characterize the limit invoked. Hence, only white, or only red.

6) I do not belive the Main house would place a curse. The Uchiha clan would be much to opposed to that. As far as I can tell, they do not seem to discriminate to that level. ANd as the story said, "Only an elite few recieve Sharingan." This in itself would be a reason to celebrate the child. Yet in the same sense, the child could also be controlled for that reason.

Hmm.. interesting.

My thoughts:

- About cross-bloodlines, I agree with nelsonkong to some extent. In the real world, it'd most probably depend on the DNA of the kid. You know, like, how in some of us, our mother's features/characteristics are dominant while in a sibling, for example, our father's feature is dominant. And yeah, it would also depend on whether a certain gene is dominant or recessive. Take the Uchiha and Hyuuga blood for example. We could surmise that the "Sharingan gene" is recessive since only a select few could call upon that ability. Similarly, we could also assume that the "Byakugan gene" is a dominant one, since all Hyuuga members gets it. So if an Uchiha and Hyuuga married, their child is most likely to manifest the Hyuuga's Byakugan rather than the Uchiha's Sharingan. (Though there is a 0-25% probability that he would get the Sharingan) And this is if the two genes can't mix. The discussion gets more complicated if the two can "coexist".

- If the two can coexist (that is, if the kid can have both Sharingan and Byakugan), then I think the kid would sport White Eyes most of the time (and look like a regular Hyuuga kid). Thus it would probably easier for him to use the Byakugan. And then later, when he is older, and he is able to manifest the Sharingan, he does so. (Why? Refer to my point above). We could probably think of it like the Byakugan is the obvious bloodline ability of the kid and Sharingan is the hidden ability. But like KyoichiKanami said, I also don't think the kid can use a "fused" version of the two, or both abilities at the same time.

- Regarding the idea of a "fused" Sharingan/Byakugan, I'm not totally disregarding that idea. But I think it would take countless Hyuuga - Uchiha unions before it could come up.

that child would be special.... i think he/she will have both of the abilities and can fuse anytime... but the byakugan is more powerful than sharingan (i think i heard kakashi said that in the anime..can't remember the episode).. maybe the child will have byakugan with the black sharingan dots... in other word.. new version of byakugan/sharingan

most likely that would never happen, but I agree with the ability to call upon either at different times or both at the same time. but if called upon both at once the eyes could stay the same natural color

Well, the child would have both bloodline limits, it would be able to use both at a certain time, not such a difficult question now was it?

i think we cant really say what will happen if two clans fused, the limitation is in the authors imagination... as for the point of views of different people we should necessarily should agree but at least we should respect each others point of views...:]

Well, maybe they would get a certain blood line depending on their gender, but I think they could get either one or none of them. It would be genetic history, you get some traits from your mother and some from your father. And maybe they would fuse.

i think that if they gave birth to a child they might have a whole new power cause it might evolve to a whole new level but if that doesnt happen wouldnt it be cool to have a character with both limits one eye with the shriangan and the other with the hyuga limit

I'll respect other's opinions in a heartbeat if it gets the meetings to quiet down a little. Ther's way too much arguing on the subject! (Especially since it's not really possible unless Sasuke-kun and Itachi-kun under go a VERY drastic change, Hinata-chan stops being in love with Naruto-kun, and Hanabi-chan...well...she's still five years younger than Sasuke-kun so yeah...)

You're forgetting that there's a whole LIVING Hyuuga clan out there so Hinata and Hanabi aren't the only choices for mating with the only two existing Uchiha clan members.

I think that the child would have fused powers. In the tournament after the death forest, Kakashi did mention that the sharingan originated from the byakugan, maybe a more recent evolutionary development from the original strain of the byakugan.

If there was an offspring with fused powers, I think that the child would have byakugan-looking eyes when not in use and have red-coloring byakugan eyes with the three black cloud marks within the eyes. The kids abilities would combine all the seeing and technique-revealing abilities from the byakugan and also be able to copy any technique using the sharingan part of his/her powers.

That would be cool if they did have a kid, though.
