Im having a weird problem

occasionally my computer freezes or sometimes road runner stops running so ill do the restart thingy. The problem I have is after I type my password in I can see my desktop background but nothing loads, no icons, and no error messages appears. This forces me too system restore which fixes the problem for awhile and makes me reinstall everything. Anyone else have this problem?

Re: Im having a weird problem

Lol that happened to me when i reinstalled windows. It worked the first time but when i turned it off and turned it back on, it loaded my desktop wallpaper but nothing loaded. So i used ctrl alt del and just opened internet explorer from there. After a while it got back to its normal self. I doubt its a virus, although u may need to do a scan first.

Re: Im having a weird problem

Have you tried starting your comp in safe mode?

Maybe you have way too many startup procesess. so you might wanna disable some.

run>msconfig>click the startup tab. =P

Re: Im having a weird problem

i think he means the roadrunner program, well if it runs when explorer, the default windows shell, opens...

this is a graphical issue more than anything...
you have probably deleted an important file... or your registry is corrupt?

try getting a registry fixer

see if that works

Re: Im having a weird problem

for some strange reason after I bought my computer at Circuit City it didnt come with the cd that lets you reformat TT___TT. So I guess once in awhile I'll have to system restore. Are there any risks or anything that a system restore can do to a computer?

lol wtf... i think getting a registry fixer is better than reformatting.. its the option you should do before it is found impossible and the final choice you should have is reformatting...

yes registry fixers do kind of act funky but then again they have the option of backing up... so what i say is backup and then scan and fix... if something goes wrong... run from the backup... hope that helps
