Blackbeard

I was watching an old episode of One Piece the other day, the one were Shanks and Whitebeard have there meeting to discuss Blackbeard and Ace.

And something Shanks says got me thinking, weve all seen Blackbeard in action now, we know what powers he has well before the time skip anyway, and we saw some moves during his fight with Ace.

Now the thing I'm trying to bring up is, before he got his Devil Fruit, the Yami fruit here, what do you think he fought like ? I mean do you think he was just all strength ? A marksman ? that sort of stuff. But before you give an answer to into account these few points.

1. He was able to give Shanks his scar, a character who has been hinted at for being an expert with the sword having even fought Hawk Eyes to draws countless times. And Shanks admitted it was not due to a mistake on his part as to how he got his scar so obviously no sneak attack.

2. He has planned everything out so far, getting into Whitebeard's crew to obtain the DF, his ascension to becoming a SB, releasing Impel Down prisoners, getting Whitebeards DF. This obviously shows hes got a good skill in making strategies.

3. Has the famous D in his name, all characters of which who have this are monsters.

4. And lastly during the War Arc when he was taking Whitebeards DF it was said that know human could handle more than one DF, but Marco was the first to comment on how Blackbeard isnt like normal humans. Well body wise anyways.

The only thing I'm not sure of right now is when he obviously had his battle with Shanks in the past was Shanks a Yonkou at the time ? If anybody has any proof saying he was please leave a comment as I really cant remember.

But just a little brainstorm among the One Piece fans would be awesome.

It's hard to think about BB as being skilled at anything.

Ace was whooping his ass until the hax DF hammer came down on him. No speed feats, his strength feats aren't that great either. No evidence of hand to hand combat skills, he seems to be a brawler, and is a coward to boot.

I think all of that is intentional. Even Jinbei told Luffy that BB is an unknown quantity at IP, BB to me is to remain a mystery until we see what he is really capable of.

Another point I forgot about, even Jinbei mentioned about BB, and he didnt even know he had a DF at that time too.

So I got a question that's sort of on the topic of Blackbeard.. What's stopping him or any other of the Four Emperors to getting to one piece right now?

Only thing I can think of is each other?

Raftel is a bitch to get to. Roger offered to tell WB the way to get there but WB refused.

Shanks most likely knows how to get there and what One Piece is, but it is something his captain left behind and it has insane significance to the world itself. Probably not meant for him.

I sincerely doubt the Yonkou could ever agree to work together on anything. Too many boosted egos and warp minds to ever accomplish that. I mean, Big Mom is a complete psychopath that destroys islands over candy. Kaido has a reputation as a ruthless warrior. LOL, in the past, despite Shanks and Whitebeard having what seemed like a somewhat friendly relationship, those 2 couldn't help clashing swords.

Makes sense, Kaido was around longer than Big mom if I'm remembering correctly...So i'm guessing he's has the most territory further in the Grand line?

It also might have something to do with the Will of D and the traits a person carrying that initial possesses.

After the war, Those old men at WG was hoping BB run into Kaidou so Kaidou could kill him.

And Kaidou was halted by Shanks. By now the yonkou power lvl confuse me.

^ I think thats a good thing for now. It's better to keep it unknown until they have a bigger role in the manga (which will happen relatively soon)
