Ya know I was the same way...after finding a better translation..I actually wasn't as bothered as I was when I first read it..It actually was evenly split on fight interest and background story. Seems we are due more history on Kabuto but more or less Kabuto is out to prove to Itachi that he is being underestimated. Kabuto claims he is the closest to the RSage. He wouldn't just boast this....Having revived Madara, knowing about Tobi and is aware of Naruto's sage abilities..Kabuto knows who his enemies are and what they can do......I still have high hopes for his future mantle as a top villain. Even he himself stated I am not in the shadow anymore..I am leading this war from the front lines....Kabuto is not out to be someone's shadow...I think finally he wants to shed his coy skin.


Also...he has yet to fight Naruto...he stated once he had his revenge against Sasuke he would find Naruto and test his new found abilities..Sage vs Sage of the white snake would be interesting as a mofo....

I suspect exactly what you quoted. I suspect that Izanami is a sort of random jutsu where Itachi declares an act to transpire(in this case the end of edo tensai) which triggers a chain of events & or actions that take place which ultimately lead to the desired conclusion. The way things lead up to the conclusion would be totally random & out of the hands of the jutsu's user. Since you know it's going to be fate/destiny which decides the outcome regardless on how individual events play out the end result is unavoidably going to be the same. This poses a risk to the user since anything can happen within the chain of events & or actions such as the user going blind, losing an arm, becoming paralyzed, or even death. This is also why I would suspect that it would be used on Sasuke so the supposed risk factor would be a minimal to him since he's the one who is needed to get to the conclusion of Itachi's desire(Sasuke putting an end to the edo tensai). Like I said Dues Ex Machina bullshit.

Hmm, could it be the way you stated but, its cast upon Kabuto, so that from some point in the past HIS future changes, ultimately changing his power levels, abilities, and or state of mind due to changes within period of time the jutsu spans, and when they wind up back to present time, everybodies looking at each other like 'WTF are we doing? Lol my point is no where does it state that the jutsu has to be casted on Kabuto in order for it to work. Since Kabuto is masking his vision he shouldn't be effected by a dojutsu correct?

He shouldn't be, but this isn't any regular dojutsu. To me, Kabuto's eyes being masked won't have any protection against Izanami, since the jutsu is more or less cast on reality.

Hope the computer is ok but as for the kabuto/ Rikudo thing.. his jutsu gives life to in-animate shit.. thats some serious power if you think about it .. with that jutsu alone he can mimic any type of nature manipulation.. no need to be a suiton or doton user if it's around him and he can potentially render any katon or Raiton attack used against him and make it his own.. it's right up there with Earth grudge fear and if used properly has the potential to be the most powerful jutsu in the manga.. but I'm sure Kishi wont handle it properly.

Umm yeah you still don't get it. It still doesn't specify that the jutsu itself has to be used on Kabuto in order to be effective. Izanagi which is what Sasuke thought Itachi was talking about didn't target the enemy but rather the caster himself.

If Izanami can decide destinty I think that it can be used to change a part of ones past .. which would give a good reason for the flashback.. Itachi is going to change something about Kabuto's past which will affect essentailly his destiny and who he is..cause lets face it .. you are the sum of all of the things that happen to you and how you respond to those events.

I have my doubts on changing ones past. A Jutsu like that could have been used to shape history & I highly doubt that the Senju would be in power if the Uchiha had the ability to re-write history.
