Edit: I think I get izanami: Every time Kabuto decides his destiny which is putting a sword through itachi we go back in time. That's why Itachi said Kabuto can change it, meh not sure though.

so the entire time he was under Izanami??..well that is cool..so Itachi's eye did fade away but as he says as long as his body regenerates injuries are meaningless..so can this jutsu be spammed to death? Meh as we knew it would change his destiny we never imagined him to be in a undying loop. Kabuto still lives at this moment..How did Itachi use genjutsu if Kabuto did in fact seal his eyes????? A lot to explain....still the fact that Izanagi uses the fused bloodlines and Izanami apparently differs??? Now that Kabuto is sealed....we are on to Tobi and Madara.......hoping Kishi to end the next chapter with brilliant writing and creativity....my feelings about the current chapter=kinda pathetic.....

Ok you don't get what I'm saying. Genjutsu is activated through the 5 senses (Touch, Taste, Sight, Smell, Sound). Now since Izanami was activated through the eyes it would ideally activate through sight. However since Kabuto's eyes are sealed how the fuck can a genjutsu that's activated through sight even be executed? I hate Deus Ex Machina bullshit.

Izanami seems like a "touch me, you're fucked" type of genjutsu. I think it works by transferring to the target if said target touches or pierces the caster, making said action the reset position. Then the caster has to activate it to bring the target back to the reset position.

Notice this page and how the rest of chapter 580 reminds of this particular chapter. It was Kabuto's piercing that casted his undoing, not his senses.


Also I can't wait for KYF to sink on his own filthiness when confronted with the true nature of Izanami. Not even one of his theories got it right.

@Num yeah that's how I'm thinking they'll explain it. Still doesn't change that it sounds stupid. A Dojutsu activated through touch seems stupid. If this happens to be the case I don't like how they reintroduced touch genjutsu as an Uchiha exclusive. There could have been other shinobi created who fought using such techniques without losing an eye in order to do so. Also what happens if Kabuto simply stops fighting in the illusion would it still reset or will he be set free? He shouldn't die since that's not what Itachi wanted to do. Also how does this stop Edo Tensai exactly?

It was a prediction I made back in the Kage Summit, it was nothing theoretically serious. I only mentioned it when Izanami was announced to piss off KYF and teach him a lesson about humility.

Let's see if now he gets the memo of admitting his own stupidity. I won't hold my breath, though.

Edit:
It's Kishi, he has done far more stupid stuff regarding Doujutsu.

I think it won't break if Kabuto stops fighting because Itachi still has control over Izanami. He'll probably keep Kabuto on the loop, like he was when having his flashback.

Simple, torture. Kabuto will realize he has no escape from it but to give up and spoil about how to stop Edo Tensei.
