I enjoy a bit of tragedy in my stories, so in my opinion, the best conclusion to the whole Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura thing would be this:

Sasuke is somehow killed, either by Itachi/Oro/Akatsuki or maybe Sasuke sacrafices himself to save Naruto at somepoint, anyway, the point is, Sasuke dies...

Naruto would defeat whoever it is that killed Sasuke, and bring Sasuke's body back to Konoha to Sakura, this way, his promise to Sakura is kept, so he never technically fails his way of the ninja, and everybody has a big cry, and Naruto is presented the title of Hokage

lol very interesting... but you failed to mention WHY Naruto is presented with the title of Hokage. Just for bringing back Sasuke and killing Itachi or Orochimaru? lol XD

My perfect ending (which will NEVER happen, btw):
Sasuke and Naruto continue their paths, one down the good guy side, and the other down the evil side. Until one day, Naruto decides, "KAKASHI-SENSEI, WTF? I WANNA GO FIND SASUKE ALREADY!" after 100 chapters of training and other Akatsuki crap.
So Naruto, Kakashi, and Sakura go to infiltrate Orochimaru's place. But to their surprise, Itachi and Kisame decide it's time to kill Naruto. >.>
So punch kick punch, and Sakura and Kakashi prove themselves to be of little or no help, really. And Naruto ends up "accidentally" killing Itachi with his "accursed" Kyuubi powers. Sasuke, who just so happens to walk by and see this, when he heard noise outside of Orochimaru's place, gets all pissed off and yells some stuff at naruto that takes up half the manga chapter.

"YOUR STUPID ACCURSED KYUUBI POWERS DID THIS! I WAS SUPPOSED TO KILL ITACHI, BLAH BLAH!" And so Sasuke decides since he can't kill his brother, he'll kill the guy that killed his brother: Naruto. As Naruto and Sasuke fight, Orochimaru comes out of his place now, and he's like, "wtf? you guys are fighting all of a sudden?"
Kakashi all of a sudden KILLS............. Kabuto. Just like that *snaps*
Orochimaru, a little pissed off, decides to fight with Kakashi, and i guess Sakura helps out too; whatever. lol

Sasuke and Naruto are still fighting, but they haven't gone to the extent of Kyuubi or CS yet. Sasuke is using his cool jutsu, and Naruto is using his wind jutsu stuff. Until Sasuke's anger gets the best of him, and he "accidently" hurts Sakura, maybe even to the point of a lethal attack. o.o

Naruto, now getting pissed off, goes all Kyuubi. Kakashi, who is... i guess... not in the manga anymore, goes somewhere where he can't be bothered. Orochimaru ditches Sasuke, and runs off somewhere. Naruto goes all Kyuubi on Sasuke's ass, but not before Sasuke goes CS, maybe even CS2.
Blah blah blah, 10 chapters of fighting, talking, whatever.... until Sasuke reveals a level beyond CS2. CS3!!! AHH!!! XD roflmao

Okay, so "CS3" a newly acquired Curse Seal, transforms Sasuke into Freiza! :O for realz? Yea, for realz. Now, Sasuke, who is Freiza, (okay, he's not really frieza. you know what i mean. A lvl beyond SSJ8. He transforms so much, he's like perfect cell. :O for realz?)
So Sasuke, who's turned into this newly transformed being, beats the shit outta Naruto. BUT, Naruto powers up into another Super Saiyan level. What level is it? We don't know.

So after fighting their guts out, Naruto and Sasuke collapse, and while on the ground, they start chatting. Mostly about the past. They chat for about 3 more chapters, with a bunch of flashbacks and junk, and maybe even laugh about some stuff. (have they forgotten about sakura? i guess kakashi took her back to konoha. o.O)
So after talking, Kakashi comes back, with help. Yamato and Sai, i guess... unless someone cooler comes along in the manga series. =/
Because Sasuke can't move, he kinda can't refuse when they take him and Naruto back to Konoha to the hospital. After recovering a little bit, Sasuke is all emo again. "i'm back right where i started."
And he.... leaves. i guess. >.>
But he leaves a note. Saying.... that he needed to take a trip by himself to think things through, and... Naruto decided it was okay? XD rofl

More crap happens, and another 30 manga chapters later.... with more akatsuki stuff; the akatsuki leader is revealed ZOMG! Guess who?
No, not obito or yondaime. It's..... Buu. Idk. Some new character, i guess. We don't know his name yet, y'know.
So Akatsuki Leader is like, "damn. That kyuubi kid and his stupid village killed all my groupies. now i'm gonna beat the hell outta him."
He walks over to konoha, and fights with naruto. Just when you think Naruto is down and out, Sasuke comes back!!!
Yes, that's right. Sasuke ACTUALLY comes back, and helps Naruto fight against the Akatsuki Leader. So, Naruto and Sasuke fight with the Akatsuki Leader, and manage to kill him as everyone else helps to fight. And when i saw everyone else, i mean the 15 genin dudes (teams 7-10, neji's team, and gaara's team) who're now all jounin, chuunin, (and kage), and beat the Akatsuki Leader.
And the end..... i guess? O.O


"They thought I was gone.... But I'm still immortal, and I'll be back!!!"
Sez Orochimaru. Oh noes! Naruto Next Generation!!! XD

...The thing is tho', IMO, Naruto could never become Hokage. The hokage is the most powerful shinobi in the village, remember? And, even though Naruto could become the most powerful, the title has a responsibility as well. They have to look after the entire village, make choices for the village, and most of all, be prepared to fight for an entire village, and sacrifice your life. And, the village elders may never choose a jinchuriki, as they may feel that it would endanger the village.

I guess I'd actually go with Uchiha toshis version XD. BUT with one addition: So the three Teams who are now very powerful, the gaara team and Naruto fight the Akatsuki Leader(Sakura isn't fighting because she's busy crying!).
And when it just looks like they will lose (Rock Lee opened 7 or 8 Gates well lets say 7, Neji was defeated because of his blind spot, Tenten...was ..well just beaten^^, Kankuro was captured by his own Puppets and so on) ITACHI AND SASUKEcome along in a very cool Pose like stannding backt to back with wind blowing through their hair and stuff!) Now there are some Flashbacks telling Storys about Sasuke resurecting Itachi to finally kill him but then Itachi made up some real twisted story and they became friends. Together the two Brothers can finish off the Aka leader and everyone, Konoha, The Uchiha brothers the 3rd world, chuck norris,gai (since lee has survived) AND the itachi/sasuke grupies are happy. end of naruto.

I think it's going to end hopeful and strong.

The story is idealistic. The themes all touch on qualities people don't exhibit as they should in the real world. It's a light story in my opinion, even with its darkness, and I think the light will prevail.

Naruto will become the Hokage, Sasuke will survive because of his devoted friends, and it will end relatively happy.

The largest theme in Naruto is not giving up. It tries to protray that if you don't give up, and keep trying even when it's hopeless, you might just pull through. I think if Kishi didn't end it idealistically, then the entire story is flat. It's like everything he's been trying to prove with these characters was for nothing, because in the end, they couldn't change anything, no matter how hard they tried.

And while I know that in the real world, sometimes no matter how hard you try things don't work out... but then, in the real world, I doubt people try as hard as Naruto or Sakura or Sasuke. That's the fundamental difference. ^^

The only way I see Sasuke dying is in the cliche giving-his-life-for-a-friend-and-then-is-redeemed. I don't want that in this manga, I want something beautiful and that speaks to the better half of humanity. I want to see Team 07 reunited and happy, like they were when they were children. It would make this fan very content.

Perfect ending, everyone dies. Except Kakashi, shikamaru, lee, Hinata, and temari. Cuz they're the only worthwhile characters :P

Maybe Naruto can live too...seeing as he's the main character...

Yeah Sasuke's definately a goner. As for Naruto becoming Hokage, didn't Tsunade once say with quite a conviction the brat's gonna be Hokage one day? I bet she's gonna elect him. I mean, he really impressed her and saying with such seriousness and certainty that he's going to be Hokage as the first and only person in the series, must mean something.
