Some of its Kanji so I cant read it. I know Hiragana, and most of Katakana, but no Kanji.

Re: Japanese to english translation please =)

Well the correct way is Yakobu. But the modern way is I guess Jaykobu.

Re: Japanese to english translation please =)

eeto...where does the "Y" come from? o.O

unless ya meant "jyakobu"

and you cant spell it as "jaykobu" you cant get y seperate in japanese. XD

depends how ya pronunce it.
As an okinawan, i'd say "jei-kabu". Clearly pronunces the name "Jacob" "kobu" is also acceptable

Re: Japanese to english translation please =)

Well as one from Tokyo here, Yakobu is an old translation of Jacob because when English first came to Japan, the people had to find a way of substituting the j sound. So for some reason they chose y. Ever read the Bible in Japanese and heard the name John? They prounounce it Yohane.
But like I said, Jaykobu is considered modern, so thats acceptable. Both you and I as native Japanese speakers should know that many Americans WILL mispronounce Japanese words. Therefore there is no real difference talking in romaji between Jaykobu and Jeikobu. Right?
