I'll say yes. Neji is Lee's superior (Neji=Jounin, Lee=Chuunin) so I do believe he can still own Lee...maybe even more after the time skip.

It's hard to say because I'm sure Neji is several times stronger after the time skip but with lee's all out training method for the span of the time skip and speacial attention from Gai who has probably taught Lee many new moves would make him very formidable. I cant say who would win but it wouldn't be a blow out for either person I'm sure Lee has gotten faster and Neji's defense has become even more impenitrable.

Well lee and neji both had become alot stronger after timeskip but neji being a jounin and lee being a chuunin doesnt really reflect their strength in battle since lee being only a taijutsu user, wouldnt fit well as a jounin and would take extra work for him to get promoted, neji which is balanced in speed, attack and defence, is a good choice to become a jounin.

Now if it was in a battle, we all know neji's style of taijutsu is close - mid range but only needs one clear shot to to deal alot of damage and it doesnt even need to be a fast or powerful hit coz he can control the amount of chakra he releases to deal more damage internally, AND lee being a close distance fighter, altho alot faster and physical stronger, he can still not do as much damage with one hit unless his gates are open so its a very bad matchup for lee. Besides, neji's defence is pretty quick, remember the spiders?? they were like standing still and he owned everyone one of them, so lee's quick fist would be pushed aside like that as well.

In conclusion, unless lee finds a method to overcome his weakness against the hyuuga's taijutsu, it would be hard for him to win coz all neji needs is one shot unless of course lee has 2 types of chakra like naruto had back then with their fight.

I don't remember clearly, but in the anime (don't know for sure if it is same as magna....) but tsunade said lee will begin training for ninjitsu...maybe he learned some things over the time jump...of course everyone has gotten stronger since then..but just think if lee learned some new jutsu as well as increased his physical speed and power??? I am a fan of both, but I dont think we should count lee out and underestimate him..

I gonna go wit lee cuz i've always liked lee cuz how he tries so hard to train and become better than everyone neji would probably use byakugan but lee would hav speed advantage and he has the gatesthough neji would probably hot his chakra points

I would go for Neji in normal state , but Lee if he can open his gates .

Lee have incredible speed and taijutsu skill , but so do Neji . Plus , Neji have his byakugan which really help in taijutsu fight . And Lee as a taijutsu user , he'll need to get close to Neji , and we all know that getting close to Neji will just result in chakra seal and internal injury. Furthermore Lee can't open his gates if his chakra is seal .
During the team Gai vs "Kisame" fight , Neji had show us that he can perform mid range jutsu and can release massive amount of chakra through his tenketsu to act as a both protective barrier and close range offensive jutsu even when he's just standing still . This 2 things had show us how much Neji have improve . I'm not saying that Lee doesn't improve , but mere taijutsu won't give him advantages if he fight Neji . And i believe Neji can easily seal Lee chakra even before he attempt to open his gates .

But if Lee success in opening some gates , i believe Neji can't handle a near Hokage level shinobi whom have speed that Kakashi's sharingan barely catch up .

i think lee would win becuae it he life goal "for a loser to beat someone thats nartualy gifted now wouldnt that make for a great match" lees probley doubled the wieght for the shine bands. and can probley open the gates longer. and yes he will open the gates because gai told lee that "lee, you can only use the gates if its a life and sitution OR, your protecting your ninja code"
rank doesnt matter. naruto bening a gennin can whip all there assese .
