i think itachi has lots of respect for jiraiya, i think he is modiest to say he couldnt beat jiraiya. weird but i think that jiraiya might have something on itachi that we might not know. maybe he is jiraiya info

however, sasori, to be is a real powerful ninja which proved to be a very worthy person to be called akatsuki. he showed great strength and intelligence. he took out the sands most powerful kazekage, he also almost beat chiyoba and sakura which in my opinion chiyoba is kage lvl and sakura is jounin lvl. so thats good. he even had serious beef with orochimaru. for someone to get oro raddled up, u gotta be something powerful and strong for oro to respect u in an equal manner.

I think the reason oro does not fear jiraiya is because he is in denile.He doesn't want to believe that jiraiya is stronger than him.On the other hand itachi realizes jiraiya's superiority.

maybe who knows,but i think theyre all strong,all i was saying is that jiraiya is always underestimated becouse he hasnt shown his power yet, i will tell you this, there will come a time when everybody will think jiraiya is the best

jiraiya is to the same power level as orochimaru, but i think if theyd fight jiraiya would win. imagine if oro brought out the 4th during the battle, that would be a hard thing for jiraiya to do. i think oro knows that and might use that move. i say there tied

First off, no, I don't think Sasori was weak, he was incredibly strong IMO, but who in the akatsuki isn't incredibly strong? apparently sasori would have won that fight against sakura and chiyo, remember something stopped sasori from evading the last attack? he saw it coming, chiyo said so herself.
But in saying that, chiyo sama was amazing herself, I'd say she's probably worthy to be a kazekage too...if she wasn't that old!

now regarding orochimaru, i think oro's plan is to learn every jutsu, but theoretically, he's got an eternity to do it, so i don't think he's too worried about the byakugan or any other bloodline limit, i think the reason he's so obssessed with the sharingan is simply because A) it is one of the most powerful bloodline limit doujutsu, and B) there are only 2 surviving uchiha in the world, and one of them is bound to die by the other's hand, because sasuke's sole ambition is to destroy itachi, meaning, sasuke would eventually kill itachi, or be killed by him...knowning this, oro would have to move quickly to obtain sasuke, because itachi is already beyond his reach.

as for which of jiraya or oro is stronger, i still stand by my belief that oro is stronger, but only by a little. I'm up for another debate regarding this, as long as it dosen't become a senseless flame war...

i guess i'll start, i'm going to address the issue with itachi supposedly being afraid of jiraya....
that isn't technically so, itachi was 'cautious', he knew that challenging jiraya would mean trouble, and as you can see, itachi seems to avoid combat as much as possible...note that he never said jiraya could beat him, just said that they could be injured.
and why would jiraya be so confident with announcing that he'll kill itachi, simply because he dosen't truly know what itachi is capable of. has he ever fought itachi? no, and we saw that he was surprised to see itachi possess a jutsu powerful enough to burn a hole in that frog stomach jutsu thing...which clearly shows that jiraya has no idea to what extent itachi's powers lay....as for orochimaru, he would be much more aware of itachi's power, as they were both in the akatsuki, and therefore would have had close contact. we also think that oro's actually fought itachi before, which is why he is so sure that itachi can beat him...but you don't see oro show any fear towards jiraya do you? the only person we know orochimaru is afraid of right now is itachi, no one else

yeah i gotta agree with you, orochimaru is stronger. i just have this feeling kishi will have jiraiya winning somehow. i think that orochimaru will die soon, dont know how. i just think that he has been around way to long and theres more interesting people out there. one being aka leader, he in the end is the main bad guy. hes the strongest and in animes they always go through the weaker ones to the leader.

gotta agree with ya, what you said is true,but we also do not know jiraiyas power, and just like you said oro does indeed know itachi's power but he does not know jiraiya's power because he isn't with him, so he would have no need to fear jiraiya,and as for jiraiya, jiraiya is the konoha spy on ututsuki, i think he is the only one doing that job, because he is the only one capable of doing it,and plus, why does naruto go with jiraiya to look for tsunade? jiraiya takes him because he wants to protect him from the atutsuki,if any one else had the capabilities to protect him they would have done so,in my opinion, naruto would be safer with jiraiya more than he would be if he was bieng garded 24/7 by the whole jounin squad and the anbu, also why do you think naruto went with jiraiya for two years, it was for naruto's protection, because naruto wanted to go after oro and sasuke,and because the atutsuki where coming after naruto

you're right ^^ naruto is probably safest when he's with jiraya, but i doubt that even jiraya could protect naruto if the akatsuki launched a full on attack to capture naruto...in fact, itachi alone would quite possibly take out jiraya if itachi were to fight seriously...
you say we don't know jiraya's full power, that's true, but we dont' know just how powerful itachi is either....kishi always tends to show us only little bits of a ninja's true power until the final showdown, when all tricks are pulled out...so i seriously doubt the fact that itachi's already shown us everything he's got....

ah we havent seen really much from jiraiya, but weve seen much of itachi. i cant think of a s- type move jiraiya has done, but weve seen atleast 2 from itachi. i dont know how many more s-type moves he knows. plus he cant use the M.sharingan much to much or hes fatigued badly.
