Yeah... I am a big fan of the .HACK// series, anime and manga and games!

I own the first 4 games.... but keep getting stuck on game #3... damn boss...

I got Ultima the other day (Officially, my fav Summon in FFXII :P).

I beat her with Vaan, Basch & Penelo (Lv59). She almost overwhelmed me. Fighting Ultima was quite tough, but I managed to take her out as quickly as possible.

Vaan (Level 59)
Weapon: DeathBringer
Armor: Maximillian

Basch (Level 59)
Weapon: Save the Queen
Armor: Maximillian

Penelo (Level 59)
Weapon: Whale Whisker (Best Pole-Type weapon)
Armor: Maximillian

Ultima herself is not that challenging. The thing about her fight is that the field has a pattern of conditions, that constantly resets, forcing you to constantly switch up your tactics.

Every 30-40 seconds or so the conditions change... starting from:

HP Drain-
Hp decreases rapidly while this field is in effect, be happy to be under HP Drain, as the only thing you have to do here is Curaja while two people continue to attack Ultima.

MP Drain-
After HP Drain, your MP starts draining, this is troublesome but once this happens, just use your quickenings since your MP will be at 0 by the time the field changes to...

Attack (Disabled)-
Simply you cannot use Attacks, this is kind of like the "mild" condition, as you can still assault Ultima's with other things like SoulEater or Telekenisis while healing...

Magic (Disabled)-
When this happends, you will die a few times, potions aren't useful for shit (unless you have X-Potions, but by the time I reached her I only had like 7 X-Potions and I really didn't want to waste them on Ultima since I knew I could still take her on, so I just Phoenix Downed all KO'd characters).

Items (Disabled)-
This is a blessing, as you can now go back to beating the crap out of Ultima while Healing.

and finally

Magnetic Field-
Your actions become slower than the spell Slow itself, and your physical attacks do crap for damage, so the only thing to do in this phase is heal the party... This actually allowed Ultima to destroy all three of my fighters, forcing me to bring out my Reserve's and reviving all of my down characters.

Then it resets back to HP Drain...

Ultima has a beam attack that she starts to use more often as you decrease her life, the beam only hits a single person but usually it does enough damage to wipe you out with one shot (I probably faught her a little too early... but still she wasn't that tuff).

I took her out before Magnetic Field could play its role a second time actually.

I hope Ultima is a summon in future Final Fantasy games, I like her design (and her title), once the best Black Magic Spell now a summon...

When Ultima comes out she moans (if they ever gave "Siren" a voice, it'd be Ultima's voice in FFXII... although she doesn't really speak... she just moans.). When you summon her I think she says something, but I cant make out what she says... Or maybe she doesn't say anything at all.. its hard to tell...

Also... when ever you defeat her... go back to the save point and save... then... good luck trying to find your way back out of the Great Crystal (lol) I was running around in a daze just wondering how to backtrack my steps, I finally figure it out though.

Well I hope you get the game... *cross fingers* heres hoping that someone who is as far as I am is actually reading that post...

Right now im just leveling up and trying to get even more better weapons (I want the Durandal and Ragnarok). So far i've obtained Whale Whisker, Ultimate Blade (Ultima Weapon), Zodiac Spear and Excalibur (which will prove effective against Zodiark when I decide to fight him... right now im just having problems getting TO him).

Theres more than that, but you'll see them. I remember roxas, xemnas, axel and halloween sora. The halloween sora dude was holding a sign that said "Sora needs munny" and he ended up getting 20 bucks from random strangers XD My idea to write "munny" instead of "money" though. He thought it was awesome, and he was really cute too o.o
