omg out of all the walkthroughs I read, he's like, impossible to beat. Theres a specific way to do everything, screw it up and you're dead. I still never beat him, I usually just left all the side matches in Olympus.

Check gamefaq boss help, there might be a guide there. Apparently he's the same as in KH1 so check a guide for that too if you can.

lol they made that guy over uber in both. I block most of his attacks but it gets hard timing his attacks when your trying to attack him aswell.

I never really bothered to fight him in kh2, 13 life bars is mad. Almost like when you fight Ansem in kh1, you need to beat him 12 different times. Theres the first time when you have goofy and donald, 2nd with the shadow thing, 3rd when you dont have D&G, 4th by yourself in space, 5th teleported inside, 6th outside again, 7th teleported to save goofy, 8th with G, 9th inside again, 10th with G&D, 11th in the belly, 12th outside yet again.

ansem was never a problem for me, just sephiroth, but I must keep trying, so I may complete 100% of the game, only then will I see the sneak peake at
KH3

oh im not saying ansem is a problem for me either, lol. I never lost to him as far as I can remember o.o... just explaining the similarities between his health (makes the fight longer) and the 12-13 different stages of ansem that really werent needed. (Also makes the fight/game longer)

Then again, Square Enix tends to do that a lot, so what can you expect? lol

How to Beat Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 2 (Excuse the long post of explanation...).

- Shortcut a bunch of Elixirs... Only use them when he does that attack where hese out of reach and he destroys your life bar/mp bar (he leaves you at 1hp), or if you screwed up and somehow got caught in his nasty ground combo. Its possible to beat him with nothing but high potions however.

- You need the ability to Air Recover + Combo... and you also need the ability to survive with 1hp after being combo'ed... I recommend you atleast level up a few forms first to get other abilities (and the ability to air combo longer... theres an air combo ender thats really useful as well as a ground combo). Just make sure, that with one combo your able to atleast remove half of a life bar (I remove one of his life bars entirely in one combo...)

- I forgot what level I beat him on, but it was around the mid 60's I know that. It is recommended you be atleast level 67 just incase (or even better... 70+ to make sure you can take some of his attacks).

- Let Sephiroth launch you in the air with his sword, then... (wait for it...) air recover into an Air Combo (you have invisibility frames for air recovering with an attack/combo in his face).

- When he uses, when he uses Meteor just run/jump in one direction, when you hit a wall you might take a hit or two (meteor doesn't do much damage... then again it depends on your level)

- When ever he uses Fire 3/Firaga (or Flare, whatever the hell that spell is... the fire pillars), just run in the opposite direction as it tries to pull you in, you can hit Sephiroth while hese in the Firey Pillar without getting hit yourself... just use that overdrive (forgot the name) where Sora flies in and out like 3 times swooping the enemy with an air attack/dive. Although this is useful for countering that attack, I never used it myself because I would rather get hit by the fire and punish sephiroth for it the next round with something deadlier.

- Sephiroth has to be faught in normal form.

- When Sephiroth throws out the energy balls, smack all of them or just some of them (if you can) out of your way (Sephiroth can set you up with this move as a means of distraction... so I usually ignore the fact that those dark energy balls are around me).

- When sephiroth begins throwing out his ground combo and your running attempting to run away from it, keep staring at sephiroth as he randomly throws out his sword, near the end of the combo is when his sword has rediculous reach, its possible to jump and avoid the rest of the slashes from there.

- Only use Elixirs after you have been combo'ed down to 1HP and have no MP left, also keep in mind if you still have MP but just 1HP I highly recommend (if the opportunity arises) that you use Curaga on yourself instead of wasting those valuable elixirs. Also theres an ability that puts you in berserk mode when you are put into MP Charge state, it basically allows you to do an infinite combo string (though its rigged because although long Sephiroth will manage to break out of the combo) - also its better to take this fight into the air more often than on the ground because there have been times where Sephiroth has teleported behind me while in the middle of a ground attack.

I admit though the battle gets a little rough when his HP gets lower as Sephiroth's attack pattern becomes less predictable.

Once I got used to his pattern he was easy. Although if you really want the fight to be easier then try going to Level 99, obtain Ultima Weapon and MAX out all Summon/Form levels... donno how badly Sephiroth will bow down to you on that level but you should be able to beat him then (I remember on a sepurate file I was level 77 and I could take a majority of his attacks, especially that issen where you have to press triangle).

EDIT: Forgot to add, when you use an Elixir and you find that Sephiroth is about to do his flash (triangle) move, you can still press triangle and avoid it even though your in the middle of healing. I forgot if you could do this while using Curaga though... there might be a long recovery time but I dont remember.

Eh heh. No problem

Thats all I can remember against Sephiroth... you gotta act quickly and precise against him since he is quite dangerous (Range, Power & Speed).

Anyways, I pretty much 100% that game... minus the Gummi Ships (I did everything except attempting to gain S-Ranks for all Gummi Ship missions). I even maxed out my moogle level (in smith shops) and obtained all times.

I dont know how hands on those Gamefaqs guides are but I can tell you the best (and most cheating ways) to get through some of the hard side quests in that game :P (I remember thinking that I was never going to defeat Cloud+Tifa+Squall+Yuffie on the 48th battle of the last cup in that tournament).
