Could Neji have been the next Itachi if Naruto hadnt defeated him in the third part of the chunin exams. You see Neji was suffering from his clan and he hated the main family the same way Itachi felt for his his clan. He stated the destiny of the branch family was to protect the main famly. But Neji beat the shyt out of Hinata and i dont think that ws wat he felt his destiny was. He felt strong about destiny. ANd maybe he didnt feel that was his correct destiny. Since he was the must gifted Hyuga he could have thought he was meant to destroy the entire main family and restart a new clan. And thats wat i meann by the next Itachi, they share the same feelings for their clan. ANd the only thing that could stop him was his curse seal but being the genuise he is he could have figuered out a counter jutso for taht. If he had defeated Naruto he would have felt the same way and his thoughts would evolve to just that. If he did that he would become a s ranked crook and most likely join akutsaki. Him and Itachi have alot in common. They were teh most gifted in their clans. ANd Neji just might have met the same faith.

Actually, his father could have been the next itachi lol. His father was the one who had more hate for the branches then anyone else, Neji was born with a kind heart unlike those of Itachi, and Sasuke, he was never corrupted by evil, though he did take his anger out rather agressively, but he never broke any rules. He wasn't a power hungry fiend, unlike the two brothers, so in conclusion no neji couldn't be the next itachi. O_o Neji's a genius, but to compare him to Itachi who is like the devil himself doesn't do his character justice. O_o

Also, Neji when he faught Naruto was around 13, The Uchiha massacre that Itachi did was somewhere near that age as well but I think Itachi was in another league, Neji is strong but not as strong as Itachi was at that age.

I think had he won he might have because his veiws may have festered and he might have learned the truth about his father. This would also mean that he would not have resived training from the main branch so he probibly could not reach full potential. Also I am not even sure he would win one on one vs hinata if they went up again, because she to had a transformation.

So it is likely that his hate and resenment would build and he might become a missing nin but I dont think he will ever be powerfull enough to kill his whole clan.

Actually, if he can train harder, he can learn that 1-hit k-o move that the hyuugas are known for. It's said that with one hit, it can cause instant death depending on where you hit, so if he were to do that constantly, he could probably kill his entire clan faster then itachi did O_o...

Yeah but his clan can probibly defend against it as well. They can see moves coming. His only chance is to kill the head of the family first while no one expects it. I do not think Hinata would allow him to get away with that and in a next battle I think she would use his emotion ageinst him and win. She showed to ability to get under his skin.

Any Main Family Member can kill any Branch Family Member with an easily formed seal. So, no. Neji could never become like Itachi, even if he wanted to.

Hinata wouldn't have to do it. Her father would do it with no poblem.

Aside from that, I don't think Neji could have been the next Itachi. Not due to his level of power, but because his feelings were not on the same level as Itachi. Itachi wanted to surpass all and truly measure the depth of his skills (along with some other stuff that we have not been fully given information to understand yet). neji just hated the head family 'cause of the seal and mostly of his dad's death. I don't hink he would have killed his entire clan, but I do think he would have done something to kill Hinata if Oro had come to him and given him a way to bypass the seal on his forehead.

Hell no. Neji could not ever hope to reach Itachi's lv. For many reasons that are Obvious. But i don't think Neji would kill his whole clan. A. not powerful enought B. Neji looks to ne the type of guy who would rather prove people wrong by showing that he can grow instead of killing them C. he is very angry, but not full of Hate otherwise he would
ve tried to kill his clan regardless of losing to Naruto

Although it is hard to say if their emotions are even simular. Because we do not know exactaly how Itachi felt due to the fact that he is crazy. I mean his dopimine levels were out of wack or low seritonin or some thing. Maybe in the ninja world the limpic system is not getting enough Chakra. He did not seam to give as many hits as neji that he was about to explode. So neji is easyer to defuse. Granted Neji got stoped befor he killed his st fam member.

I really don't see that as a possibility for Neji. Sure, he was cold, hated/blamed the main family for his father's death, and always spoke of one's destiny; however, while neji is skilled and will eventually become the strongest in his clan, he doesnt have the overwhelming power like itachi had at such a young age. Itachi was more than a genius, he was a prodigy.
Itachi became an ANBU captain at only 13 and then killed his entire clan. Neji just isn't at that level.

Neji's philosophy and Itachi's differ too much. At least at the beginning, Neji believed in fate, something Itachi never believed in. Itachi believed that there were no limits to his growth in power, and acted upon that notion when he massacred his entire clan.

Even after Naruto made Neji see that everyone has a choice, a free will, Neji's state of mind is decidedly improved. He has only changed for the better, and I think it's clear his relations with the main branch has only improved.
