(First off, sorry this is in the wrong section, but this seems to be where the majority of traffic is.)
Heya guys. I just had an idea to write a program to let people build and customize their own Zanpakuto in a 3D GUI program. All the 3D models will be made before hand, so the customizing and building would leave users free to do what they wanted visually with the weapon. The idea is to take an image back here to the forums and share different custom Zanpakuto, use it sigs and what have you. See more details below.

The question is, would you guys want to use the program, if it existed? If so, do you think the idea itself sounds cool?

A program like this would take days of programming after a days of 3D modeling, after days of design and planning. I don't really want to waste creating the program if people think it's a dumb idea and wouldn't use it.

Ornament (For things like the tissue paper on Rukia's Shikai)
Style (gonna be LOTs of variety here)

Same as Blade 1

The inclusion of multiple blades would allow the construction of more unique Zanpakuto, such as Mayuri Kurotsuchi and Shūhei Hisagi.

The program would be able to save your swords in a specialized format so if you want to open it up later, you may certainly do so.
The overall sword can be rotated and viewed at any angle, and the GUI would be mouse and keyboard based and display the sword in 800x600 resolution.

If enough interest in this program is shown, I'll certainly post the list of blade, ornament, and hilt models which would be incorporated into the program. Also, if I do commision this program, I'll include as many of the original Zanpakuto as possible so that users may mix and match multiple characters' Zanpakutos.

If you have any thoughts to offer, things you would like to see or requests, feel free to do so. If you want to bash the idea then go right ahead so I don't end up wasting my time.

Well it seems like it's taken a while for responses, but perhaps I will decide to develop this program. It would take me around a week to get a quick 'beta' together. From that point I can just keep developing more models and textures for the Zanpakuto.

It would work very much like a 3D model viewer, except that you get to decide what the 3D model looks like.

The program will, of course, be free to download and use infinitely.

So here's the green light, I may start development in a day or two as my schedule frees up.
