Found a quote in the book about how human skeletons make a mess inside of a boat. Fabricated tiger story is most likely fabricated. Still, I'm going to ignore it and believe he survived with a Bengal tiger like a boss.

Re: What book are you currently reading?

Sadly, I haven't had time for leisurely reading, but in Shakespeare I just recently read Troilus and Cressida. Mildly enjoyable... For Shakespeare. I like the internet summaries better than the actual play. haha

Re: What book are you currently reading?

Round up of the past month or so:

Read "Magician: Master" Book two of the Riftwar Saga (which is the first set of the Riftwar Cycle) by Feist. Now on to book three "Silverthorn."

Also began reading the Old Kingdom Trilogy by Gareth Nix. Read book one "Sabriel" and am now on "Lirael". A different feel to a fantasy series. Interesting.

Re: What book are you currently reading?

A song of fire and ice collection is on its way! Looking forward into digging into a little something meatier then my more recent reading material. Mainly been into comics and stuff as of late. Been plowing my way through Jeff Smiths series Bone, which I have found to be surprising pleasant, simple and fun.

I tried reading some newer stuff too, marvels annihilators.... Which I wanted to enjoy, because it has a couple cool characters I like in it, and I think I could have, if it was not for quasar's self esteem issues and incessant inner monologues of self doubt. Just for it to end the way it did... was a tad to obvious.

Im kind of in a book shopping mode. After I make my way through aSoIaF, I'll be looking to get into a decent space opera. Any suggestions would be awesome.

EDIT: well not any

Wow I never really realized that you guys read so much. I only read when I have to. Getting a paper cut in your eye tends to scar you for life.

Re: What book are you currently reading?

Maybe smashing books against your face does constitute 'reading' in the Boyawkard home.

Anywho, received my fantasy four piece combo, and am loving it. Only about six score and seven pages in thus far. While the hbo series does seem to follow the overall direction well enough, many details are oddly changed. Everything from ages, to attitude, down to straight up inverted character interactions. Of coarse things need to be trimmed, fitted to make the show work. It is kind of odd, a few of the choices they made were kind of senseless, when many of the changes would have worked just as well in their original format. Whatever, both are still well worth it.

I also ordered "Creatures of Light and Darkness". Was suggested by my grandfather. He's actually tried to get me to read it on more then one occasion, and now I have no excuse because he was about to buy it for me, so I had to get before that.

Re: What book are you currently reading?

^ Stop advertising. If we wanted to know where you got the book, we'd open a thread "where do you go to get your books". Of course, I'd only answer Library. Fuck you, Amazon.

Anyway, been a while so quick update:

Began the Terra Incognita series by Kevin J Anderson (does a lot of the Star Wars fiction), reading book one and two (Edge of the World; Map of All Things). It's OK, bit strange. Easy and not too much depth to it, though lots of characters. Book Three is just out so probably should put an order in for it.

Also re-reading Song of Fire and Ice to update my memory for Dance with Dragons (book 5) and have finished Game of Thrones, Clash of Kings and a third of the way through Storm of Swords. A very good series even twice.

A few others read:
Eternity Artifact by L. E. Modesitt, Jr. It was unique.
A few Agatha Cristie Poirot novels (Three Act Tragedy; Taken at the Flood)

Think there was another one in there... but it probably wasn't very good because I can't remember it. Such as it is.
