Chris simon's penalty

Chris Simon of the Islanders received a 25 game penalty, so no games till next season for him, it's the longest penalty ever handed out in NHL history, he received this for swinging his stick at Hollweg of the N-Y, the coach obviously says that this penaty is too harsh, but for atempting to decapitate another player, it seems pretty fair, Hollweg got the stick hit at his chin, and needed stitches, nothing to bad, he's fine now, but, do you think the penalty was fair, should it have been longer? shorter?

longer, He try to K.O him with his stick. Any higher or Lower something worse might've happened. His Suspention should last a little more into the next season. Like He got checked, no reason he should be trying to Knock the person with a stick. Like thats just wrong.

I would say it should have been longer if there were more games left in the season. But I am satisfied with the current penalty. The hit against him was from behind but that is reason to do what he did.

Rather than the NHL making rules to take hitting out all together they need to inforce and penalize these dirty players. Hopefully that will bring some respect back to the game.

What there comparing this to is Moore and Bertuzzi and I think Bertuzzi only got around 20 games and look what happened to Moore.

thats right, having a no tolerence rule for player like him should be a given, but there's still not a rule , in the end the penalty was probably the best way to solve it, but this guy is a "repeate offencer", i think he should have gotten more.

( arent there more hockey fans here?)
