I hope the story draws itself out, not with filler, but with more of the substance and storytelling that Kishi drew us in with to begin with. I do feel like it's starting the beginning of the end. I don't really care if they continue the series after its showdown and loose-end-wrap-ups in the Narutoverse, but I like a solid admirable ending vs a crappy ending and then crappy stories following after.

It might be more interesting to fans and in general if Kishi wrapped up this part and told the gaiden type stories of a bunch of the other characters. A bunch of side stories would keep the series alive and not overuse the current story. Many of the characters have stories that have been one-shotted to the point where they are over simplified. Naruto is a "person" made by many experiences where the other characters to a degree are introduced and then simplified to a single pivitol incident. Not to say that it isn't really that way, but expanding might be good. And for sure that would be something that no one would really expect from such a popular series.

I feel maybe a year, year and a half is left for naruto, dealing with sasukes death/redemption, itachi and the battle between them(which is coming up? who knows with kishi) the identity of aka leader(kurosaki ichigo!;p) and blue haired person.the uchihas and kyubi and eventually the cryptics of uchiha madara, that was dropped in for a purpose and i think will have serious repercussions before the end. and course orochimaru i feel his ending was too swift so' he may be back.
I do feel we may see a "Gaidenesque" series set after the end of the series seeing naruto as hokage.if he survives just to tie up any loose ends.

I don't know about anyone else. I personally think that the series will end with Naruto expelling the Kyuubi out of his body and defeating it, so that the ultimate evil power in the Narutoverse is gone. Then the Kyuubi and the rest of the Biiju are sealed, preventing them from harming anyone again. That's just my personal opinion.

A fight between Naruto+Sasuke vs. The Akatsuki Leader sounds much more likely to me, after they become allies again. I hope that Itachi doesn't die until near the end, because he's badass. Akatsuki Leader probably has many powers that we have yet to see, it's clear that he's amazingly powerful to inspire loyalty in even the most powerful Akatsuki such as Itachi and Kisame. He might be even more powerful than Itachi is now. After Sasuke kills Itachi (I'm pretty sure Kishimoto intends for this to happen), and destroys Orochimaru once and for all(I dunno really it just seems like something he would do).

Your idea about the fight between Sasuke and Naruto ending in a tie seems quite realistic. After that, if they do become best friends agian, I guess their teams will team up to defeat the rest of Akatsuki or something. I can only see the series ending when three things happen:

1. Akatsuki Leader has been killed.
2. Naruto has been announced the next Hokage.
3. The Kyuubi is no longer part of Naruto.

Hopefully they won't drag out the Sasuke Itachi fight with a crap load of talking because that would suck. I know the anime loves doing that crap all the time. I think the Itachi and Sasuke battle shouldn't marrk the end of the show. At the begaining of the series it sounded like more of a side battle and now it is starting to be like the main event which would suck huge balls. It should be the main event for just HEBI.....

I will kick Kishi's ass if they pull a Inuyasha on us when in that show they even didn't kill Naraku..........

Do they have Naruto in the english jump? Even if Kishi does end it soon maybe, they could keep the rights and get someone else to write it like DBGT, even though that ssucked. But I would still read it just see what happens.

Here are some things Kishi needs/could do before he finishes the series.

- Lee's resolution (hard work > than genius/at the very least, let him win a fight)

- Zetsu's fight/possible history
- Itachi/Kisame (who knows, this might not be the end for either of them)
- AL's showdown/history
- Unknown member's intro/fight/possible history
- Jiraiya, Gai, and Tsunade all might get to fight at least once before its over...
- Connection between the Kyuubi and Uchiha Clan/info on Uchiha Madara
- Team 07's reunion/Sasuke's redemption/or Sasuke's redemption and death/or ect
- Kabuto's history/real motive/plan/reappearance/whatever
- Orochimaru's soul could fuck with Sasuke/actually has a plan that Kabuto is currently getting underway (and there's a small chance Karin could be involved, since she experimented on subjects and that's Kabuto's area)
- Yondaime's connection to Naruto revealed (He is his father, dammit. XD)/at least some insight from Jiraiya on Yondaime and Naruto, something lol
- Some more good guys might die... (probably the older ones though)
- Possibly something more with Danzou and the Roots organization

And there's more. XD Who knows if its drawing to an end or not. I'm not sure. XD

Some of it has to happen. Like Neji's position inthe Hyuuga. Naruto promised to change the clan once he becomes a Hokage, but he will not be one until he will have back or a closure on Sasuke.

But if I were Naruto, i better get laid before this series ends.

The Inuyasha anime has been discontinued, true; however, the manga continues, now at more than 500 chapters. Here's my usual source for recent chapters:

There's a blank part from where the anime ended and the most recent manga on that site picks up, but you can fill that in using Wikipedia or other sources.

Back on topic:

I've been expecting the Naruto manga starting to head towards its conclusion myself. This confrontation with Itachi may lead into a final story arc; personally, I hope to see the two remaining Jinchurikis making themselves known and joining with Sasuke or Naruto. Heck, for all we know Juugo might be a Jinchuriki himself. It would make sense, wouldn't it? Much like that secret sand technique was created based on a previous Jinchuriki's remains, the enzyme might be a side effect of how this Bijuu was sealed. When enough of it accumulates, Juugo loses control, and the Bijuu takes over.

Dang, this is a day for me to make conspiracy theories...

I think Naruto is not soon finalize . The story can yet goes many paths. The return of Sasuke or Kyuubi and Naruto. The past of the new teammembers (team 7 and snake). I guess it ends with a dead or so ... perhaps with a fight against kyuubi so as naruto started ^^
maybe would itachi never defeat? then Oro was yet to easy defeat (lame)

I've seen some really nice thoughts, some of which I agree with completely. I still think, however, that the series won't go any longer than 2 to 3 years, I don't think Kishimoto will give in to the greed and continue doing it any longer than he feels necessary or obligated to because of the money, I think already he is setting the finale up to end it all, even if it is 3 years down the line.

It just seems to me that Kishimoto is tiring of this series and this storyline. I'm sure he'll do another series after that after a few years of a break and doing one-shots, but it's just a vibe I'm getting from the manga, from the pages and storyline, that he's just getting tired of doing it, as would any normal person not obsessed with the money. He has, after all, been doing the same storyline for years and years, I myself would love to see a new series, but I also wouldn't want it to drag on, and yet again, I wouldn't want to see it end abruptly.

If they do some cheesy spin off with Konohamaru I would watch it as long as the plot was REALLY good. Also he could go through the Chuunin exams but this time there is a twist!!! The fights will be 2 on 2!!!!!!!! They could call it Konoha Spirits or something.

I know it sounds very cheesy but if they throw something interesting in then it could maybe work.

It is definately true that lately the storyline has been going like crazy, it's moving at an amazing pace and it would seem that it's on the road to the end. But although it may seem like it's ending, or it will end "soon"; I don't think that's the case.
Although Sasuke and Naruto may both be going after Itachi, and we still have all the other Akatsuki members to look at; it may last for more than a year, probably not more than 2-2 1/2 years.
With one year only having 52 weeks, that means that only 50 chapters will come out a year. (obviously lol) Although Kishimoto will probably not make it a billion chapters and make the story stuper-di-duper long, he'll make it last as long as he can. He can and will make the series last more than a year, that's for sure.

Drawing the same damn chracters for more than 5 years can get pretty tiresom; but I don't think and sure hope that Kishi will not let down his readers and make the story sped.

Naruto has to become hokage first before the story ends... or in a sad ending, he dies, but it's far too soon for that to happen.

It would be nice if Hinata made a comeback... with different looks (like a hot lolita) and a different attitude, but she still can't help becoming shy in front of Naruto.

I also want to see some more fighting (skills) from other characters, like Kiba (and Akamaru), Shino, Ino, Chouji and Tenten. Not only in a grand finale.

I think the "Sasuke avenging the Uchiha clan"-story is about to end when a final fight with Itachi begins.

all im gonna say is that..its gonna end soon that is between now and a year..maybe even less than a year..kishi has a new project he is gonna start on..i forgot where it was but it was stated that kishi is ending it soon due to a new series he is gonna start. (soon can mean alot of things....with me..i think 5months to a year)

There is still a lot of question besides Itachi-Sasuke fight outcome

Who is Uchiha Madara? It might be answered on Itachi-Sasuke fight arc.
What will happen to kyuubi inside Naruto?

5 months is too short. Just 20 episodes unless theyll release 2-3 episode a week. If Kishi will hasten it so much the story migh come out like an unfinished story with many questions still on our heads.
