Isn't that called an adverb? "Cool" would be the adjective there.

That would be what you did, and actual way to make penis an adverb:

That is one penis dog.

So, yeah, you can say that is "way cool" but it is not correct.

In Shikamaru's case, he sees "way cool" as "very/really cool". Therefore, the initial misunderstanding comes from when he read "way ninja" somehow as "very ninja."

ITT english lessons from people who have not yet taken High School English IV.

Feh. I take it back. The universe Corbenk made isn't spherical, it's flat. Therefore, I'm pretty sure it'll undergo a big freeze rather than a big crunch. In other words, it'll just expand infinitely, becoming more and more diluted as time progresses.
