It was whether or not Jiraiya and the Fourth were geniuses, but we pretty much said no.

I have a fight: post time skip Kakashi & post time skip Sasuke vs Orochimaru (when he fought 4 tailed Naruto) & post time skip Shikamaru (after Asuma's death). Odd combinations, I know.

Jiraiya, obviously, isn't a genius.

Orochimaru can Edo-Tensei, but one of those summons can be MS-ed by Kakashi. He can summon Manda, but so can Sasuke, and he can genjutsu the snake anyway...
Shikamaru is smart alright, and he has very strong technique, but he isn't Kakashi's level.
Let's say Sasuke is Orochimaru's level now (he basically said he isn't, but it's pretty much obvious he is on pair with him).

This would be a neat battle, but I give it barely to Sasuke and Kakashi.

Yah, I agree about Yondaime.
I was pulling for all the former Hokage some pages ago.
Only Sarutobi made the cut, but I was still happy with that. ^.^



Orochimaru/Shikamaru vs Kakashi/Sasuke

That's hard. X'D I can see it going in a lot of directions...

I believe Orochimaru is more well-rounded than Kakashi and Sasuke, but Shikamaru lacks in power compared to all three... and Kakashi/Sasuke are definitely well-rounded shinobi...

But Shika's genius along with Oro's intellect is definitely a deadly combo...

However, I just can't see Shikamaru keeping up with the others in terms of chakra and raw power.... he's the most likely to fall first...

So I give it to Kakashi and Sasuke. But that's a hard choice for me. lol

how could someone not be a genuis when they created a technic of high difficulty(rasengan),another too goo with it(FTG) and could even summon death himself but anyways could pein or tobi be considered genuises since they are the leaders of akatsuki

We don't know enough on either of'em to really even consider them geniuses.

Um, please, this goes to all of you, don't nominate people just because of their status. Pein/Tobi as Akatsuki leaders don't make them geniuses. But if you choose to do so anyway even after this, then provide some reasons why, other than what their status are.

I guess I could fit one of the banners into my sig, even if it doesn't fit the Yu Yu Hakusho theme. Oh well.

As for the fight, it's Sasuke and Kakashi all the way. I mean, Shikamaru is much weaker than any of the others, and would be quickly killed or at least knocked out very quickly. Then it would be Kakashi and Sasuke against Orochimaru, we can all tell that wouldn't last long in favor of Orochimaru.

Also, one more thing I want to say is that I believe you've missed at least one Genius. What about Shino? Shino is extremely powerful and the greatest in the Aburame Clan, so I think he might be considered a genius.

I already mentioned Shino, but I believe most ruled against him. XD

About going by titles... I'd say it's definitely not the only reason to nominate a character, but it's still an aspect to consider. Pein/Tobi are future considerations because they are the leaders of Akatsuki, but of course we should wait until we've seen their abilities. Same goes for BH.

But with the Hokages who have passed away... all we can go on is their title and what has been said about them. *shrugs* Which is why I don't mind that they're not on the list (Shodaime, Nidaime, and Yondaime), even if they are worthy.

Shino is sooo page twenty-something. I thought he'd be a genius too, but, like UT said, overruled.

I think we've got all the geniuses covered so far.

We already spoken of Shino.
He is a very skilled an intelligent shinobi, but he is no genius. He wasn't notable among Academy students nor Genins to be called a genius.
But, as I said, he sure is highly skilled.

Yup, what he said. Anyway, another genius match-up: Neji and Orochimaru vs. Sasuke and Sasori.

That last VS is a very interesting one, but I think Neji is definitely weaker than Sasori, and Sasuke is at least about Orochimaru's level by now. Sasuke and Sasori've got this one by a mile.
