Not really he is the only one other than yondaime but yondaime was the greatest in history so yeah i consider naruto a genius.

Nah, not as nearly as Naruto does.
We know his childhood. We know what he has been through. After he found the best friend, he never gives up on him. He is about the only one who is like that. Even Jiraiya quited on Orochimaru.

Well, looks like you guys are practically begging me to post here . Kidding, I'm not that conceited. Anyway, though, when I saw the new topic I knew I'd try to prove Naruto a genius.

1. He was less than a genin when he accomplished two amazing feats:
First, he mastered the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu, a technique that was far beyond most Chunin to even learn. Second, he pulverized a Chunin so badly he never even had a chance.

2. He defeated Gaara when he was just a genin, only using the Kyuubi's chakra ONCE, and little of it at that. He FAR outdid Sasuke, who lost when Gaara was still half shukaku. Naruto survived past the FULL shukaku form and was about to kill Gaara at the end. Let me name some people who failed to defeat Gaara: A chunin when Gaara was still five, Sasuke, Lee, Dosu, Shigure, and two Genin at the SAME TIME in the forest. I dunno what's up if that's not impressive.

3. Naruto mastered the Rasengan, a technique that supposedly only Jiraiya and Yondaime could learn. It's stronger than Chidori, and don't even bother arguing about the results of the Sasuke/Naruto fight, because it's just not proof at all. Anyway, nobody except them has ever mastered the Rasengan without any sort of outside help.

Mizuki was a low-tiered, wannabe ninja who had to decieve naive children to meet his goals.

Also, since nobody else had access to the scroll which Naruto learned the Shadow Clone technique from, of course he's going to be the exclusive weilder of it among Genins. Too bad the Clones are only effective against serious foes once in a blue moon.

Gaara was half out of his mind when Naruto fought him. At that point, Gaara was a hulking mass that was a pathetic combatant to say the least. If Gaara was in his original state with his sand shield active: Naruto = defeated.

Well, this is the only fact that can be accredited to Naruto as genius-worthy. However, Kishi never explained why Naruto could just learn a A-class move all of a sudden. It's a cliche anime/manga procedure: have the main-character learn some super-uber move that's supposed to take a lifetime to master but they learn it in like a week.

Proof nao? Come on, you can't only assume that somebody isn't a good ninja just because they didn't get much screen time or lost. Mizuki was a Chunin, Naruto was an academy student, end of story.
Most Chunin don't even know it, that technique is a B-Level Chunin and Jonin only technique, and he learned it as an academy student. Don't even tell me that's not impressive.
He seemed to defeat Gaara's Sabaku Kyuu by summoning Gamabunta without pretty much no chakra at all. He already used 2,000 shadow clones before that, WITHOUT using the Kyuubi chakra (he didn't need it until the end of the fight). Point: Naruto defeated that technique, and he'd do it again.
So you're going to blame the writers for naruto's genius status? Saying it shouldn't have happened? Their words are as true as the dictionary meanings in the real world, and there's no denying that. He didn't learn it all of a sudden. He spent MONTHS on just the second step alone, the only reason he mastered the rasengan was because of the strain of the fight with Kabuto.

Awwww, not THIS again!

Okay, we could say that Naruto isn't a genius because he's got the Kyuubi and that's not fair, but then that would be directed to someone else saying that Sasuke shouldn't be a genius because he has the cursed seal. We need to remember that, even before the CS, Sasuke was a genius. O.O

Naruto COULD have been a well-rounded genius, if only he'd dedicated some time to training rather than goofing around to get attention.

The fact that he got beat by Naruto is proof enough he's low-tiered.

Correction: most Chuunin didn't know of it (it was a forbidden move, remember?) and every Genin shown so far (Rookie 9) knows a C/B-level move themselves, so what's your point?

Naruto used Kyuubi's chakra to summon Gamabunta; that's always the case in that scenario. Beating a hulking mass is quite easy with that much chakra at your disposal.

He spent weeks dude.. weeks. According to the anime at least. (Never read that manga chapter.)

naruto is a genuis but the reason why others don't see it because he acts his age and does not lack emotion like the others, his father was almost the same laided back way but serious when it came too battles and naruto has inherited that trait. IF naruto was like the other genuises would we like him that much or want too expect more growth from him?
