Orochimaru > every other villain is so true... just because he's crazy. And a pedophile...and part snake. lol... the makings of a great villain.

What kind of a writer would Kishi be if he just let Orochimaru be done in once and for all in < 1 chapter by Sasuke with only a few techniques and no effort on Sasuke's side? Nah. He's going to be brought back, but I think only to be destroyed by Tsunade and Jiraiya.

Series-wise, and in everything he's done-wise...
Yeah, Orochimaru beats all villains in the series.

But...just saying... In an actual character's eyes, I think that if some dude released this thing in a village to terrorize people and ruined a boy's life, sort of, I would think that's much more evil than abducting kids.

Hmmm.... I wonder which villain's actions can be considered the 'evilest'.

Orochimaru has done more than abduct children, he's also experimented on humans and imprisoned them. But it's not that that makes me like his character, it's his ambition and what we saw of his past. His design and jutsu add a lot too.

We don't know the extent of Madara/Tobi's actions, so I guess it can't be compared until more is revealed.

It's actually pretty hard to decide who's committed the greatest sins. o.o

What's wrong with not starting out useless and having some general talent? Point is, Sakura is not blessed with intellect superior to the average ninja.
Memorizing something is easy, it's not the same as true intelligence. She has no special talent for intelligence whatsoever. If that was the might has been less worthless in the original Naruto.
Intelligence quotient is not influenced whatsoever by age. Rather by one's ability to process information, perform mathematical operation, and store memory quickly and for long periods of time. We don't know how long it took Sakura to memorize that book, so it's out for proving her intelligence.

I'm pretty sure that Kakashi DID say near the beginning of the series that Sakura was very intelligent.

What are we discussing here? Sakura's intellect? Part 1, she's booksmart. Part 2, she's booksmart + medical nin smart + some battle smart. She's come a long way. *tears up*

Yeah, I'm kind of with I'MNOTCRAZY. And like UT said, Sakura was the only one of the many Genin during the first test of the Chuunin exams who knew all of the answers. And her memorization for most of the things she learned in the Academy, I think, is also intelligence. But I don't think it's exactly easy, because she can answer stuff the other academy kids can't. I don't think saying that "Sakura is not blessed with intellect superior to the average ninja" (quote Anti) is exactly, umm, correct.

Okay, what I'm trying to say is that intellect in Naruto is just based on how smart you are, and I think that's mostly memorization and testing. (Notice the 8D after the third quote you quoted from me. ) And it doesn't matter how long it took Sakura to memorize the book, the point is, she actually memorized it, all the rules and the rule numbers, while no one else did. (I'm pretty sure no one else did...)

Awwww, I'm sorry. I have to try and stop stealing ideas nowadays. 8D

Does it matter? Reading a book a million times to memorize it doesn't make you smart. Kakashi said it? Come on, he doesn't know everything, and could be wrong. Wait, she answered all the questions on the Chunin exams, we have no idea what she wrote down so she could have been FAR off in her answers. Ability to write down things does not intelligence make. Point, Sakura was worthless in every way pre-timeskip and didn't gain some usefulness until Shippuden. This includes intelligence.

In reality, that's what we might be looking for. But I think the point that Kishimoto tried to make in Part I is that even though Sakura was physically weak, she was mentally strong. And...she also has good chakra control. I don't know what that has to do with this, but I'm throwing it in there and I hope it works.

This was illustrated with the Heaven and Earth scroll at the end of the Forest of Death. Iruka told Naruto that he possessed Earth (physical strength) but not Heaven (mental strength), and Sakura vice-versa. Sakura was intended to be intelligent, not just in memorization either. Hence how she could concoct an antidote to Sasori's poison when the best of Suna were at a lost. This may have been after three years of training, but comparing that to Chiyo's age and experience... yeah. >.>

It's true though that there weren't many instances in Part I where Sakura could demonstrate her intelligence - but that's more Kishimoto's neglect than anything else. She was always able to keep up with Sasuke and Kakashi, a big indicator of this is during the Wave Arc. Basically, the three are finishing each other's thoughts about what Naruto should do to help Sasuke with Haku's ice mirrors... but then Naruto hops into the jutsu of his own free-will. -.-

Anti, I don't think you're giving her enough credit at all. Sakura is up there with Shikamaru, Neji, Temari, and Sasuke. She was able to predict Sasori's finger movements, just as Shika was able to predict Tayuya's with her flute.

And though, sure, we can't know for sure if Sakura answered the questions correctly on the Chuunin exam, but the fact is, she was able to attempt them when Sasuke was staring blankly at his.

She's probably like most. She retained what she's shown is pretime skip and improved on those same things. Kind of like Neji and Lee. Or just Neji.
