Re: Harry Potter 5

Best Harry Potter so far I say, There were a lot of changes from the book I noticed but what the movie did right was fantastic. Umbridge was perfect and Luna was pretty good too, I liked her voice. I've always imagined her voice to be lost and cute. The Department of Mysteries scene was, in some ways, better than the book's. Ooh, that's right. I said it!

Re: Harry Potter 5

I suppose the fact that I could never have possibly imagined anything like this, the department of mysteries scene was unlike what I'd imagined for it. Also the whole thing with the flying death eaters was strange and as if they'd been some wierd form of Dementor. Also the fight did make a bit more sense since a bunch of kids fighting seasoned death eaters that've killed very many people in their lives and already graduated from school themselves wouldn't last very long. I suppose they took a ton out of what was in the book, and it should have been longer, but they still maintained the basic contents enough to make it a decent movie.

Re: Harry Potter 5

they didnt really cut out the fight seen between sirius and bellatrix the camers were rolling around viewing different things as they were fighting and it would zip back to them occasionally until he died. I thought it was good not nearly good as the book though and i'm glad that they fixed up the whole neville talk that they skipped in the last one

Re: Harry Potter 5

This is always the case, someone doesn't like the movie because it isn't exactly like it is in the book. This is Hollywood we are talking about and we have seen what they have done with other book/comic book based movies. For me when I watch, lets say, a Marvel or DC movie I either like or dislike. I don't like to make a big fuss about it, I just accept it as a movie and judge it by the quality of the story. If it sucks it sucks if its awesome then it awesome, I don't compare it to the original story because it cause too many wars in forums. A good example would be X-Men 3. The story line was way off from the original but I just looked at it as if it were another sci-fi movie that just came out and had no ties with the original content and my thoughts were that it was a pretty great movie. If I had to judge and compare it to the comic book storyline then yeah, I would have to say that it sucked. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was a pretty badass movie compared to the other four and I thought it was great. If I had to wine about why it didn't match up to the book then I wouldn't be able to enjoy it as a film.

Re: Harry Potter 5

That was a great review Kakashi87.Yeah we really cannot compare books with their equivalent movie.Plus I dont think there ever was a movie as good as the book.All of the movie equivalents are under par compared to the books.But like what you said, take it as a separate entity and you will enjoy it more.
Personally, I haven't seen it yet, I've been dying to see it but I'm just too busy right now.Anyways, I prolly forgot some plots from the book since I've read it years ago...lol.I know I'm gonna enjoy it.

but the reason there were so many plot holes was because of how long the movie was without the plot holes, i think the running time of the movie is 2.5hrs and if they would have put in all those parts, that they deemed unnecessary, the movie would have gone on for like another hour or more. And the thinking behind that is that not many people want to sit in a movie theater for 4+hrs. So look forward to the DVD release, because they'll surely have alot of deleted scenes

Um. I'd have to say yeah. I didn't see all of it, only like the first hour or so, but from what I saw... I got bored pretty quickly. The only thing that kept me watching was Evanna Lynch playing as Luna Lovegood. -_-;

... Yeah, that's what I meant. Dumbledore said only he as headmaster had the power to through her out and stuff. >__>;

I wasn't really paying that much attention, like I said. The whole time I was like, "WHAR'S LOONY" and that was it. I was pretty bored.
