Not sure what you tried to accomplish with the large amount of green.

This one would've looked cool without the fire and the purple and blue stuff.

There's this SoTW competition that I entered. The theme was a green background and one of the Espada.

The effects were a little too much. I'll try and cut them down a bit next time.

You need to try and stay more true to the colors provided in your stock photo or render. It'll make everything look much more unified. Also, your typography is intensely... well, it's bad. You should look into some tutorials and build your skill set.

A little better! I'm not a fan of this cloudy thing you do. I don't want to say it looks bad, but I don't have a nicer way to put it. Do you have any brush sets? Look into them. You'll find a lot of cool stuff.

I didn't render any clouds in this one. Well, I just put a little and lowered the opacity. So, the backgrounds aren't cloud rendered. Also, yeah, I have some brush sets. Grunge, splatter, X etc.

I honestly think you could really benefit from just looking up tutorials and building your skill set. You'll find out a lot of cool tricks or ways of using tools you've never thought of. Crowd-sourcing is amazing. Might I also suggest using a better quality stock? A good stock should be high res and also fairly large.

The first one looks like mud. Its far too dark, you can barely see anything. Not a fan for your text placement or font.

The second one have no balance at all. It super dark and then glaringly bright. Your font should be deleted immediately. Might be fun for some kind of school project, but it has no business in design. Also, your person looks like a floating head. That's bad.
