or....you could just redo the lineart yourself completely and get a much fresher & cleaner look

Thanks for such a wonderful tutorial! I used to colour the hard way: either hoping the magic wand tool would select properly or do it manually which seemed to take hours. This makes it easier.

I have one question about shading. The part where you said about blending the lighter and darker areas, should we like create a seperate layer with burn and another layer with the lighter one and then blend? I couldn't quite get that part.

I have photoshop cs3, and when I go to do the first step, where you go to channels and deselect all but "blue copy", it doesn't work. I don't have that. Mine looks like this:

you're meant to copy the blue channel as well....but than ...does it still not work??

I got Adobe Premiere there.. for free!!! but i kinda deleted it afterwards when my computer got real nasty... so there...

Well if you don't have enough RAM, then why are you trying to color...

Also, to whoever asked, no, you don't need to create new layers for the shading. Creating new layers would just defeat the purpose, anyways. Shading, in a lot of ways, is trial and error and it also takes a hell of a lot of patience.

And to who asked about the channels thing, I don't know anything about CS3 because frankly I think it fails. I still use CS2.
