First off, it's my senior year. Yay!
Anyway, Thursday we get our shirts and here's what they look like... Front: ![]() Back: ![]() So, the back - if you look hard enough or have someone tell you - implies that the little paw print is a decimal point so that .08 refers to the legal limit and we are in fact, pushing it. Here is a cute little video that WMUR news did about the shirts because some one's mother (probably the woman in this interview) called the news station and complained. http://www.wmur.com/education/14242185/detail.html Wanna know something funny? Everyone knows who the "anonymous" students are... that parent's daughter and her boyfriend - both were named homecoming queen and king on Friday. Needless to say, people aren't too happy with her because everyone thinks that her mother called WMUR - which I think she did because she was interviewed at her house and since this story is so biased, WMUR would need a parent who was opposed to the shirts. The story also says that several students are opposed to the shirts... um, like two people didn't wear them on Friday. The shirts were lame at first (a lot of people were pissed because it's not the design we voted for - so the senior class had no say in this joke) but when we got the joke, every one instantly loved them. Hell, my mother want's one. What do you guys think? Is this worthy of CNN? Because I heard it made CNN... must have been one slow weekend. Also, last year the seniors had shirts that said '07 (like 7 up) and on the back it said "Up Yours" they also had sweatshirts with the carona slogan and crown (the school didn't pay for either of these though) but there was no contraversy over them. Also, the class of '04 had shirts that said "underclassmen down on your knees", while those were banned they didn't even make local news. What do you guys think? I think it's hilarious and a lot of people are going to wear thier shirts tomorrow. (Side note: I used the [img] code, but my pics are coming up as a link, anyone know why?)

Re: I Can't Believe This Made National News...
Yeah i hate when things like this happen they make something small so big but it does kind of look funny .08. But really that doesn't mean anything about BAC.
About the design hmm just a regualr t shirt nothing special so i can see why you call it lame,(a bit off topic)but in my school the seniors get hoddies with any kind of design they want. Last edited by Hunter-Nin; 10-01-2007 at 04:32 PM. |

Blame those damn soccer moms that are too lazy to tell their kids from right and wrong so they just use censorship instead.....

Re: I Can't Believe This Made National News...
Tell whoever designed them to just say "We didn't mean it like that. Get your mind out of the fucking gutter, assholes." Because, really, that's extremely subtle. And the kids who were offended are huge douches, see to it that someone takes a dump in their lockers or something. They deserve it.

Re: I Can't Believe This Made National News...
Heck I love the shirts... its alot better than what our class slogan was... and you are always going to have someone who doesnt like something... there is always someone who complains... it a fact of life... and like you said the only reason it prob made the news was b/c it was a slow newsday and they had to come up with something

Re: I Can't Believe This Made National News...
Yeah, I didn't like them at frist until they got all this publicity. A friend of mine had some random guy ask if he could buy his shirt.
And honestly, that chick and her mother were really the only people (that I'm aware of) who have a problem with the shirts. I don't think is anywhere near as bad as "underclassmen down on your knees". *rolls eyes*

Re: I Can't Believe This Made National News...
I know for a fact that nothing would have happened if the parent didn't complain. She complained to the news, that's how they found out.
Like I said, 04's "underclassmen down on your knees" didn't make the news. Why? No one's parent was pissed enough to call anyone.
