Also, I guess you'll reverse those spam infractions since there was no harmful intent there either. It was just a joke. Right? After all, breaking the rules is okay if there's no harmful intent according to what you're saying. Because that's what S_M did. Broke the rules. What he said was racist, no if, ands, or buts. So G, 48, and I should be in the clear too assuming you would actually want to be fair about this, right?

Also, it was a blanket racist remark. It shouldn't matter who he was directing it towards. If I said, "Hey 48, black people are all douchebags" I'm sure I'd get banned even if 48 wasn't offended, right? If not, then that's useful information too. Please, do clarify.

@Miburo - I believe it was you who made the argument about taking things into context, yes racism is no laughing matter, but in certain situations it can be done in good fun. Not to mention we all know that you guys aren't particularly fond of Seal_Master.

No, you misunderstood my position. My argument was that in regards to flaming, mods should not give an infraction unless the person being flamed clearly expressed being offended by the flame. ie, a passive moderation style.

Now, are you saying that you're adopting my proposed method of dealing with infractions? Seems to me that you are. My entire basis of argument is assuming that you are using the moderation style that is currently being used. If you're changing the rules, then I'm completely open for that. Is that what you're doing here?
Either way is fine with me. If it only applies to flames then racism is a seperate type of infraction and S_M should be banned. If it doesn't, then G, 48, and myself should have our infractions reversed since there was no 'harmful intent' with ours as well.

Also, could you go back and address those points in my other post. Particularly the one where it's okay to make insults so long as you direct it towards someone that isn't offended by it. Unless you are planning on changing the rules, then it won't matter as much. Thanks.
