My favorite character is non canon Hinata. During the fillers, Hinata became much stronger. Learned a new jutsu. Interacted with Naruto without fainting. That's the Hinata I like, and thinks there should be more of.

MY canon favorite, other than Naruto, is Shikamaru. Kishi did a great job with him. Turning him from a lazy slacker, to one heck of a great leader. Asuma is a close 2nd. But, Shikamaru is by far my favorite canon character other than Naruto. And not only is he a great leader, he has a cute blond girl pining over him. Who wouldn't want that?

Shikamaru is my favorite character because his just like some people i know i reality. they have great potential and I am just waiting how they would manifest their potentials.

Shikamaru could easily be the star on a spin off of Naruto and I seriously hopes he gets to fight with the much stronger Naruto and show that brains can be more vital than brawns. Hopefully my next favorite character Naruto can learn from him and becomes much smarter while still keeping his fun personality.

My absolute favorite character is Kankuro. The whole family dynamic coupled with the Kabuki style and jutsus just make for an awesome character, in my opinion. His impulsive behavior kind of reminds me of a severely muted, matured Naruto, in a way.

After that, Lee, Jiraiya, and Hinata. My favorite Akatsuki is Konan, because her jutsu is interesting, she's powerful, and she's a female villain--the only one. (Not counting Kin, who sucked, and Temari, who is no longer a villain and was never actually evil, just following orders.)

Also, according to a few sources, he's also very smart (probably not as smart as Shika, but close).

The only reason he didn't become chuunin in normal Naruto series is because the invasion started before he could show his worth. Frankly, I think he'd destroy Kankuro now.

It's a shame he doesn't get much airtime (I was about to say something about manga then, oops)
