Billboard.com reports: "Besides the album, Aerosmith is also working closely with Activision-Blizzard on Guitar Hero IV, which will be dedicated to the Boston group's music. 'I don't know much about the technical part of it,' Perry says, 'but artistically we're working hand in hand.'"
So, if you take Billboard at their word, you have to expect the next Guitar Hero to be a veritable greatest hits of Aerosmith... we wouldn't put our money on it, though. We find it much, much more likely that Perry and Billboard weren't fully aware of what they were talking about; after all, Perry is a bona fide rockstar. Why should he 'know the technical part' of some dumb videogame? So we seriously doubt this is true. Aerosmith are okay and all, if you like that sort of thing, but a full game of Aerosmith? Not gonna happen.
This is pure speculation, but we could totally see a downloadable Aerosmith content pack coming for Guitar Hero III. That sounds more likely, and may have been what Perry was talking about.
Trivia note: The only good game based on a band we can think of is arcade classic Journey: Escape. (And, in truth, it wasn't that good of a game.)

Aerosmith would be sexy though, immitating steve tyler's massive lips and singing "Walk this way" or "Pink."

People can just "Dream On" (pun intended) that it will be a full Aerosmith game, there are too many good songs that have yet to be put into this franchise.

Would be a bad marketing idea. Not exactly a band worth thus.

Nonetheless I hope with the new one they will take a little more time and add some stuff unseen by Guitar Hero.

Activision is pretty good at it so I really can see it happening. They need a new game to fall on now being how Tony Hawk is washed up and there is .skate to choose from now.

Rock Band just needs to take it a step further. Add a bass solo career and so forth.

The only band that would be worth it would probably be AC/DC. That's just my opinion.
