since you said the same thing in 2 threads I'll just answer here coz it seems to fit better to the topic.

I think it should mean the same thing. Because the remains are just dead tissue or something like this, they have no more function. And if you transplant the remains, only thing that could be transferred would be the DNA, because the rest of the tissue died. I don't think the tissue can revive, but the DNA is always there (since it was in Shodaime's body and he was dead for.... yah....)

and also i'm pretty sure that the remains can be equated with dna. like liuaishan already said. it's the only thing which is not dead and can be used for transplantation.

Sorry for posting the same thing on two threads. But there are two threads about the exact same thing. So for that I apologize .

I agree that transplanting the dead body parts is almost the same as the DNA since all of the cells of the human body have a copy of the DNA except for the red blood cells. But what bothers me is why is it over his body? O_o DNA alone isnt supposed to do that.

Yamato has the 1st 's DNA in him but it doesn't take over his body nor he looks anthing like him . Does anyone have a reasonable explanation for this?

well, when Orochimaru said: i gave him the 1st hokage's blood (or smth like that), maybe he only just added the kekkei genkai to Yamato's dna.

The first didn't have a kekkei genkai. Nobody has had his chakra nature, but it's still not a kekkei genkai.

no, I remember Kakashi said during Naruto's training, that you have have a kekkei genkai on order to be able and combine different elements. For example Haku had a kekkei genkai, that's why he could combine water and wind and get his ice attacks. I think Kakashi can't do that.
So I think The First's was a kekkei genkai.

I'll have to disagree with you on that.

Mokuton is not a separate element. It's combined from Earth and Water element.

And you can't combine them together unless you have a kekkei genkai:

That means kakashi can't combine elements coz he doesn't have any kekkei genkai, and his sharingan can't copy it. It's stated on the last link.

Hmm.. I wonder.. Since it was only Shodai and now Yamato who is able to do wood jutsus.. And only because of Yamato having Shodai's DNA.. So I wonder.. Could be a Kekkei Genkai..

isnt orochimaru like an extremely abnormal person...i mean i think he can sort of meld with surfaces like zetsu can, and stuff like that. So inserting his DNA into kabuto shld be totally different from inserting shodaime's DNA into Yamato. Also dont forget that shodaime was good n orochimaru is evil. maybe that makes a difference to wether he'l take over kabuto or not.
