Konichiwa

As it suggests, I'm new to the forums and making my first post an introductory one.

I'm a huge fan of older cartoons; you know, the ones that used to be worth getting up early on Saturday mornings for. I'm no stranger to anime, but Naruto just recently became known to me mid 2007. And I'm ashamed to say, but I watched several episodes on American television before realizing it was dubbed. Since then, I have enjoyed reading the manga and watching it in what I call traditional format (Japanese and subs).

Some of my more favorite animes include FLCL (Fooly Cooly), Berserk, Outlaw Star, Naruto, Evangelion, Elfen Lied, Popotan, Fullmetal Alchemist, Pokemon (the original, none of the new ones), Dragon Ball Z (again the original), Inuyasha, Yu-Gi-Oh! (again the original), Vampire Hunter D, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop and Fushigi Yugi; among many others. It saddens me to say that I have not seen all the series for all that I listed, but I'm working on it.

To me, anime isn't just about watching cartoons, it's about experiencing it. It's about going through the emotions with the main characters and what I enjoy most is that it includes drawstring guitars, 10 story robots that use power plugs, ramen and super skilled ninjas that fight in the air for forty five minutes without ever touching the ground.

With that being said, I'll be poking around the forums and get to know everyone (hopefully, the registered users is quite large).
