Are those really all the other things? I never...thought about this.
Maybe it's weight, too. Like, you know how smaller characters are so easy to KO and stuff? And the heavier the character, the heavier the KO?

Speed, weight, defense, offense, an range also...

So my question is...
What was the best character for u on the SSBM game?

well Young Link...

Speed: wasn't the fastest, but it was faster than Ganondorf or bowser

Weight: Not so much it let him had a good jump

Offense: Link had some good attacks

Deffense: eh, not the best obviously

Range: had a good attack range, his spinning attack could cover a good area, he could also throw arrows, and bombs... so yea... >_>

Agreed Weight is also a key factor, proved during Metal Mario battle. You'd throw him, and he would go far, but Dmg% Helped that later on.

Okay, those would work. I'll do a couple to kill time.

Marth.
Power - It really relied on where you attacked; the tip was the strongest.
Speed - Considerable. Faster than that of Roy's, though they were pretty much equal in almost every category.
Weight - Pretty light. Easy to KO.
Jump - Sucked. Up + B only went so far.
Offense - Wide range of sword tactics. Long-range fighter.
Defense - Counter-attack proved to be very useful.
Range - Middle-range. He has only one weapon, and its power relies on its tip. xD

Sheik.
Power - Rather weak, if I may say so. Sheik was very flexible.
Speed - Very, very fast. Not as fast as Captain, but arguably one of the fastest.
Weight - Lightweight. KO's can be easy.
Jump - Was good.
Offense - Wide range of weaponry, good with hand-to-hand combat.
Defense - Very flexible; considerable defense.
Range - Close-range combat; good middle-range (chain) and needles could reach far.

Ice Climbers.
Power - Okay.
Speed - Average. Slower than Mario.
Weight - Middleweight. KO's can take time.
Jump - With both, very good. With one, not so much.
Offense - Good moves and power.
Defense - Evasion can be difficult, especially with your partner failing to follow.
Range - Close-range.

I'll base mine 'reports' on N64 SSB because i can't confirm with Melee.

Pikachu
Power - Reasonably weak when it comes to melee attacks.
Speed - Fairly fast on ground. Speed up when Up+B is used.
Weight - Light.
Jump - Average double Jump, Up+B help recover and such being able to Up+B in 2 directions.
Offense - Variety of attacks, Powerful Down+B attack.
Defense - Being little pickachu can be knocked around easily. Up+B Helps Evade.
Range - Basic B attack is ranged, other attacks basically close range/melee. Grab is close ranged.

SSBM here....

Ganondorf

Power - Excellent perhaps the strongest character
Speed - Terrible He is really slow
Weight - He is really heavy, in disadvantage when falling
Jump - Bad, due to his weight his jumps are short
Offense - Pretty Good
deffense - Not so bad, other than it's slowness at moving it's ok can't get KO'ed easilly
Range - Really short not as good as Capt. Falcon's

Bowser

Power - Good, pretty strong
Speed - Slow, can't move too fast
Weight - Heavy, won't get KO'ed easilly
Jump - really poor, due to his weight
Offense - Lacking speed, but very strong
deffense - Again lacking speed, but extremely good resistance
Range - his fire breath has a good range, but it isn't too good

power/smash (the difference is in each attack. Marth's attacks deal more damage, but don't send enemies as far as Roy's), speed, jump height, lunge length, fall speed (Falco isn't all that heavy but falls like a rock, thus proving this as a stat), wave dash length, roll speed, roll length, grab speed, grab length...
