Most of the kids on Naruto had a tragic past...

Which do you think surpasses every one of them in misery?

i think it will be naruto. no parents to give him love. no one to support him. no one believe in him. the whole village despise and hates him. was treated like a freak monster. was blame for the village destruction and people that were killed. his best friend back stabbed him and tries to kill him. what more tragic than this?

I'd have to say Gaara. Most feared him, and with a bijuu in him, he couldn't sleep.

For me it's a three way tie between Naruto, Sasuke, and Gaara for different reasons.

Naruto was outcasted, and never had parents and relied on himself, though Gaara for a time had what appeared to be a kind parent figure, though that whole tragedy plus his being such a monster in all those ways as an outcast was horrible, meanwhile Sasuke had his trusted and beloved brother kill everyone he knew and held dear, and who then made him rewatch a gruesome versionm of this killing, and had a happy life ripped from him. Each of the three has their own occurences and story parts that make it a tie within my head.

who had the MOST TRAGIC past is Gaara .... he was born a monster , feared by almost everyone and couldn't sleep .....

Gaara.... I hate reading the section when he is trying to play with the other kids and his smile often turns into sadness..... Poor little boy

Its kinda of a tie between Sasuke and Gaara. Gaara was born as a monster and feared by his people, the same people that put that bijuu inside of him. Sasuke had a tough one because his entire family/clan was wiped out in front of him (well, Itachi just made Sasuke relive the clans death through tsukiyomi several times). either way, they both had a crazy past.

4 me its a tie between Naruto, Gaara, and Sasuke...all of them didnt have a family (at some point in time; Naruto...forever, Gaara....until the chuunin exams, Sasuke....all were killed)

although...some chars had pretty bad times too...

Pain or Nagato whatever you called him, He lives through war, Not only see his parents got killed but hunted by other nin, got to look out for his buddies, hiding for every single day, scavanged for food. Then he meet Jiraiya

It's a tie between Gaara and Naruto for me
Both suffered the scorn of being jinchuuriki (Gaara even became an insomniac by reflex to prevent the bijuu from taking over)

Sasuke is second only because Gaara and Naruto had no parents and were scorned by others, Sasuke on the other hand had everyone adoring him as a genius and such (or maybe it was just the fangirls adoring him) still he had ppl who looked at him with respect.
