The Gunslinger himself, beaten and battered, but never defeated, joins the ranks of the likes of Dan Marino, Unitas, and Namath as the all-time great quarterbacks.

Brett Favre was a player everyone could identify with, and loved to root for. With his exciting, reckless playing style, and his down-to-Earth attitude, even when you were playing against him you were on his side.

He retires, leaving behind a legacy that no one will match.

Ahhhh, how saddening. Too bad he couldn't bring some awesomeness to this year's Superbowl. That would have been nice.

This man was a legend.HE was a pretty smooth playmaker,he got a few TD's himself by just running through the other team and avoiding many tackles

yeah. i didn't really like the guy, but i still respect him. hes freakin history man. heck, i didn't really like the Packers whatsoever. nor the Patriots. (Cheaters) i'm glad the Giants won the Super Bowl.

man this really sucks, im a bengals fan but the packers have been my 2nd team to watch..one on afc the other nfc team... i only watched the packer cause of brett favre, he was my favorite player..

ive heard alot of talk about where hes at ranked among the great QB..i would say top 5 maybe top 3..

I'm sorry to see Favre go, but I'm 22 years and for most of my life, he has been the quarterback of the Cheeseheads (Green Bay Packers).

I was rooting for the Packers to go the superbowl this year. I wanted a Midwest team go, and since my state's team ummm well is never going to go to a superbowl and much less win, I was rooting for the Packers. If you can't guess what football team I usually root for is, I live in Minnesota and I root for the Vikings (the Queens). I'm getting sick and tired of watching east coast superbowls and Patriots needed to get rolled more then a couple of times.
I also remember the Broncos vs. Packers superbowl. It was a good game. I was rooting for the Packers.
