pain"s necklace
The three sacred treasures of Japan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_Regalia_of_Japan
Well we know Orochimaru has Kusungai. And um, the seocnd relic is the mirror.... *cough* Damn rules. The third relic...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magatam...ni_no_Magatama Could it be Pein's necklace? Could that have something to do with his abiities? http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/380/02/ The necklace is in the top left box. i found this and thought it was interesting on nf Last edited by shiki-fuujin; 03-12-2008 at 06:16 PM. |

Re: pain"s necklace
Nice theory and totally plausible
However I want to be the hopeless optimist and assume that the 1st Hokage's necklace that Naruto wears is the aforementioned relic. I want to believe that the item representing benevolence belongs to a protaganist, instead of all the villians owning the three ancient relics. I'm sure that's wrong as someone would surely have made a big deal about Naruto owning one of the 3 sacred treasures. edit: I didn't look at the picture of the necklace *kicks self for looking real dumb* o well, just makes your theory all the better

Re: pain"s necklace
holy c*** The Magatama even looks identical like Pain's necklace. x_X
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Magatamarm.jpg Playa, what if naruto's necklace, is a small part taken from Pain's? XD I know it sounds stupid but the pieces from Pain's necklace, have a little resemblance with naruto's. edit: how about Itachi's necklace. I don't remember if it was ever explained or mentioned in the manga.

Re: pain"s necklace
Mbaye Kishimoto is planning on them having some plot relevence. If you look at the people who have them, kusunagi belongs to Orochimaru, who for a long time(and posibly still)was the main villain.Pain the next most notable villain holds the necklace. All this leaves is the mirror, the sharingan has been at times referd to as the "Mirror wheel eye".This could be a metaphor for the mirror,Itachi certainly is evil enough to qualify as the third most villian, but I thnk the mirror is more refering to Uchiha Madara the original owner of the "Mirror wheel eye".These people have also referd to themselves in a godly,or royal way,the treasures are after all royal artifacts. This could all be a cleverly hidden way of pointing out the mosst powerfull and important villains in the plot of the story.
This is a good find thanks for sharing the information.

Re: pain"s necklace
I just read that,it seems as though suano'o is a sheild,it acts as a mirror reflecting the attacks back at sasuke. If I'm correct and Susano'o is a sharingan technique,it certainly helps to prove the part of my thoery of the sharingan being the mirror.I assume Madara also posses the Mangekyu(SP?)Itachi pointed out that the susano'o was activated with the m.sharingan, then it's safe to assume that Madara has it as well, meaning if my thoery is correct than Madara has the mirror, making him the third main villain.

Re: pain"s necklace
This is very good. Rep ++
But like someone said. Why are all the treasures in villain's hands? |

Re: pain"s necklace
Probably to make the heroes that much better because they overcame a handicap. We are going to be like, "Oh man, you had so much help and you STILL couldn't beat him. You suck major ballsack." Kinda like with Sasuke and Itachi

Re: pain"s necklace
Sorry if Ive missed this already but I note the link to the sacred treasures in the first post lists a sword, mirror and jewel.
If it is a jewel doesn't Sasuno have all three? Is that a jewel stuck in the middle of his head? http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/392/04-05/ http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/393/03/

Re: pain"s necklace
@erick
Yeah, I had wondered why he had a big diamond stuck on his head and when I saw the jewel reference in the three treasures link it got me wondering
