The 3rd wanted Orochumaru to be Hokage so bad that he tried to overlook the evil in Orochumaru for as long as he could. He admired Orochumaru and his genius and talent so much that he allowed Orochumaru to leave the village when he could have easily stopped him. Then Orochumaru defeated Jiraiya when Jiraiya tried to stop him. Orochumaru was the man. Orochumaru was and still is greater than Jiraiya. Mainly because of his obsession with juysu and what he did to his body to be seemingly invincible. Jiraiya showed us a big, clumsy toad, some long spikey hair that is a decent shield, toad mode, and boom, he was all out of options. Orochumaru never stops showing us how great he is, even in defeat. I like Jiraiya more than Orochumaru but Orumaru has and will always be the greatest of the Sannin.

Element of surprise is a big part of what it means to be a truely talented shinobi. In shinobi battle, as long as u or your jutsu causes the other person's defeat, then u win the battle. Everything is fair. Dogs, sucker punches, hostages, low blows im sure. Keeping your secret is part of being a good shinobi. If everyone knows how your jutsu works then they can figuire out a way around it if they are talented enough. Neji couln't fully keep the secret of his Byakugan a secret and he nearly lost his life. A win is a Win in this shinobi world. Everyone in the Manga says that Orochumaru defeated the 3rd eventhough he used the previous Hokages to do most of the fighting. All is fair in love and shinobi war.

I think that Sasuke fought a hell of a fight. I was so proud him that I cried. I like Sasuke, but Itachi was a better shinobi than Sasukei when Itachi was STILL 15 years old. Itachi bled from his eyes and repeatedly fell to his knees after using his jutsu. The boy was fucked up already. Sasuke did good. I think that Itachi was even proud of him. Plot protection killed Itachi to save Sasuke the way that it did because we all know that Sasuke may be great for his age group, but he still no match for Itachi with or without hiw MS. Sasuke had to get his vengeance due to plot protection but he couldnt fairly beat Itachi so Kishi came up with a well thought out reason that he has yet to reveal to hoe Itachi actually died. Sasuke knew enough about Itachi and Itachi knew enough about Sasuke. Itachi still underestimated Sasuke, but he was shown this during his 1st jutsu. When Naruto and Shikamaru's opponents realized that they had to take them seriously, it was too late. They were already caught in a checkmate jutsu. Everyone else in Akatsuki knew very little about these young Leaf shinobi. They had nothing on Itachi.

Shikamaru had the talents and a GOAL this time and he is a genius and his opponent can live forever and use voodo. How weak does he have to be to even lose his head to asuma in the first place. It was painfull and dangerous for him to do this so anyone else would block it or get out of the way if they could. His biggest asset to Akatsuki was that he couldn't be killed. He was no great shinobi.

Deidara was an obcessive artist. He wanted his art to be greater than anything else as we see he always argued with Sasori about art. Many etreme artist, especially those who see blowing things and people up as when art becomes true art, usually have a questionable mind, actions, personality, etc... Deodara wanted to prove that his art was greater than the Sharingan, he already caught his tailed beast to show his art, and he couldnt beat Itachi. Why wouldnt a crazy extremist who uses explosives and was forced to join an organization, not kill himself as his last resort to win the fight and prove his art to be greater than the Sharingan that he views as another form of art. Deidara was not great. If not for Gaara trying to save his village, he could have defeated Deidara. Deidara did say that he underestimated him ann his did lose an arm, and take a long time to get Gaara. Deidara just had another talent that was uniqie and came in handy for Akatsuki. Pein specifically said a man of his TALENTS. Also, Deidara use bombs with his chakra in it. Sasuke can see chakra and even told this to Deidara and Deidara was dumb enough to forget and still wonder why he couldnt beat Sasuke. Deidara was doomed from the start. Deidara was powerfull and talented but not really great. It takes great intelligence as well to be considered great. Deidara was also overconfident in believing that he had trained his eye to defeat the Sharingan without even testing it 1st.

Everybody in Akatsuki had a great talent, power, and jutsu, but not very many of them were all around great shinobi and THEY ALL UNDERESTIMATED the future, great Konoha shinobi.

What did orochimaru beat exactly a guy who didn't want to kill him if jiraiya used hellswamp while he was at 100% he would be dead if he used toad stomach oro is dead hermit mode isn't needed.

I wont argue with u about who is greater between the 2 but Sarutobi himself said that he wanted Orochumaru to succeed him. This was before Orochumaru ever left Konoha in the 1st place. I woulnt argue with Sarutobi about his own students if I were u.


Tsunade was talking about after Orochumaru left and maybe even after the 4th died
