-shrugs- maybe take it to your local movie rental place and ask if they do DVD/CD cleanings. other than that, i have no idea.

One of the discs for my FFVIII game was like that, all scratched and wouldn't load and respond. SO i just whipped it off like, a couple of times with regular water and cloth and then kept putting it in and out of my ps2 until it worked =/

Well, I dunno, I always use normal water on cd's, computer discs, ps discs and ps2 discs and all my games work fine, except after i lend them to friends =/ But, I wouldn't stake my life on it.

Put some after shave on a tissue and then just wipe the CD slowly and gently (My cousins san andreas got scratched and stoped working he did this and it worked again)

that's what you get for ebay. try a game doctor, it's this thing for fixing scratched discs.

Clean the disc first with a cloth or a CD cleanser. Then try copying the files to your computer and see if your computer could read them after. This method doesn't work all the time, but it's worth a try.
