Here how to tell if a band is true EMO. If MTV calls it punk and plays it every hour, it is EMO.(Billy Talent be the exemption)

Baby, it's really hard to explain.. you've got to listen to them yourself before you can judge what genre it is..

EMO is like: "Boo-hoo my girlfriend left me. Life is stupid,I am always right. My suck." I usually just say that EMO is simple plan.

well, fer me, EMO is more like expressing urself. Telling others what u really feel inside. yea.. i guess so. EMO is concentrating more on your emotions while listening to the lyrics of the song.

The misfits <-- PUNK!
Sex Pistols <-- PUNK!
The Vandals <-- PUNK!
The Mad Caddies <-- PUNK!

Aikokusha will certainly give most of you a bollocking for blaspheming the genre of Punk =P most of you are very wrong. You're listening to pop rock and stuff, and calling it punk, but it's blatently not =P

What would you call punk then? I personally would have no idea how to describe it that well, but I know a lot of the crap that's coming out these days are just profiteering off the name. BLASPHEMY
