Alive - The Final Evolution

I was just reading the latest chapter of this manga when I realized there wasn't a thread for it here. It's an awesome manga, so I think it deserves one. I don't know if it has been adapted to anime yet, but if it hasn't already, it fucking should be.

Alive - The Final Evolution is about Kanou Taisuke, a seemingly normal boy who lives normally, up until an event that comes to be known as Nightmare Week. During this week, there is a huge increase in the amount of suicides worldwide; Taisuke even sees a girl jump off a building and land right in front of him on his way home. He later learns that he, along with select others, has gained special powers. When his best friend Hirose turns evil and becomes part of an organization of power-users, and kidnaps Taisuke's love interest Megumi before departing, Taisuke must use his powers to track down and defeat Hirose and his allies and put an end to whatever they're planning.

Yeah, I'm not great at writing up summaries... -_- Hopefully you get the idea. One thing I find that makes Alive unique is that it starts off as a very morbid horror manga, but gradually turns into a slightly morbid action/adventure manga. IMO, good action mangas should be slightly morbid and deal with death often, because then you know that the stakes are always high, that they're playing for keeps; the villians aren't going to spare the protagonists for any reason. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes action and can see some blood and gore without vomiting.

Chapter 33 came out recently. Now we know what "The Final Evolution" is.

To those who are reading or are up-to-date with the series, who's your favorite character besides Taisuke?
