I have been thinking but who do you think is the best Ninja in Naruto series. So I came up with this list who are shown to be really powerful but who do you think takes number 1 spot. How would you list them.

Naruto Uzumaki- The title character and contains the 9th tailed beast. Although not that strong as other but capable and improving a lot now with training. Has developed a really powerful Jutsu: Spiraling Shuriken that even Madara Uchiha said to be really dangerous since Sharingan can’t keep up. He is training in the sage art now.

Sasuke Uchiha –A genius said by Kakashi. Is a Uchiha and has MS now. He defeated Orochimaru, although in his weakened state, defeated one the Akatsuki and could fight equally with his brother (without MS) but metaphorically lost.

Kakashi Hatake -Has MS developed by himself and know how to use Sharingan well said so by Itachi Uchiha without being a Uchiha, developed Chidori and said to be a exceptional Ninja at his generation)

Orochimaru –A genius said by the third Hokage and was meant to become the fourth Hokage. One of the three legendary Sannin. Also known to have very high number of Jutsu and knows lot's of forbidden techniques. He defeated the third Hokage.

Itachi Uchiha-Has MS and not afraid to use it and trained by Madara Uchiha personally. A genius who became Black Op chief (or was it a member) at age 13, killed all Uchiha (except brother) with help from Madara Uchiha. Overall a very deadly fighter.

Kisame Hoshigaki – A member of Akatsuki, very strong fighter such that can take on powerful Ninja singlehandedly. Has exceptionally high chakra level.

Pain –Has Rinnegan said to be strongest eye technique, leader of Akatsuki (although takes order from Madara) and possess 6/7 bodies. Has defeated Jiraiya, a Sannin. He is presented as invincible.

Might Guy -Kakashi Hatake rival and knows how to take on a Sharingan user. Also went toe-to-toe with Kisame Hoshigaki (Akatsuki member).

Madara Uchiha –The first Uchiha to gain MS. Known to have a battle with the first Hokage which he lost but has lived for many generations on. He is hinted to be the founder of Akatsuki and be at a level beyond even Pain and controlled the 9th tailed beast.

Hashirama Senju -First Hokage, User of Wood “Mokuton”, defeated Madara Uchiha

Nidaime -Second Hokage, brilliant water Jutsu user

Minato Namikaze –Fourth Hokage, said by Jiraiya a genius and developed original incomplete Rasengan. He is feared in battle field such that orders are given to flee on sight of him by enemies.

Tsunade –One of the Sannin and currently the most powerful medical Ninja and Fifth Hokage

Sarutobi –The third Hokage and student of the first and second. Knowns a lot of Jutsu, such that he is known as “professor”.

Jiraiya- One of the Sannin and the toad-sage. He is known to be exceptionally powerful and even Pain said he could have lost. Also Itachi and Kisame fear his skill, or Itachi sounds like that.

Salamander Hanzo -Legendary said best even more so than the 3 Sannin but defeated by Pain.

I honestly can't put them in any order but I would say Jiraya is the strongest. If he knew peins secret he would have won the battle. Stated by Pein him self. I mean he had his toad sage arts, which made him as strong as tsunade and as powerful as any of the Hokage's. And with the aid of ma and pa he had one of the strongest gengetsu's. If he knew what he was going up against when he fought Pein he would still be around. So theres my choice.

Jiraiya is not the strongest character in Naruto by any means. Knowing Peins secret can actually mean many things. It could mean he could of went to the real body and fought him but that doesnt make him the strongest. Hell with susanoo Itachi was pretty much unbeatable and ended up being a god. There are others in the manga that are stronger then him.

You have made a few mistakes in your descriptions so id double check some of those facts...

I dont like to put people in a definitive list so i'll use a "tier" system (the names are in no paticular order) so people cant say "mr.x would beat mr.y" but it can still give a idea of power level:

Tier 1: Minato, Jiraiya, Itachi, Pain, Madara
Tier 2: Sasuke, Sandaime, Orochi, Kisame, 4 tail naruto
Tier 3: Tsunade, Kakashi, Gai, (Regular, pre-sage) Naruto

^I actually can't believe I would completely agree with someone here, but hey! Must be the fact that I approve of people loving Berserk, Gantz and Claymore. Especially Berserk.

Seriously though, this is a topic which was discussed over and over too many times.
There is no one who is the strongest, most of it is just speculation.
But as I said, I would agree with the post before mine.

Naruto is the strongest regardless. Kyuubi or no Kyuubi. Kishi won't let him die if he comes face to face with any opponent. It's his manga.

So far in shippuden you only seen Naruto working his ass off to get stronger. Notice how he didn't go 100% yet in shippuden and when he does i will have the popcorn ready.
Sasuke doesn't deserve to be in any tier by the way. He sucked since the first episode and never defeated nobody with none of his jutsus. He only won battles by default while Naruto rapes them with a powerful A-rank+ jutsu.

I honestly think naruto can be considered the strongest, besides the fact the manga is named after him he has proved he is the strongest, he works hard, he isnt stupid anymore, he actually has better ideas the shikimaru sometimes, id say he has matured and taken on the most challenges the best,and also i would like too say sakura has grown a lot since the beginning, she may not be much of a fighter but she is pretty much the most succesful shinobi between the three years we missed of naruto

Sasuke deserves to be in a tier just as much as Naruto does. Just cause you dont like Sasuke doesnt mean you can determine stuff that he does and does not deserve. He deserves it just as much as Naruto.
