Just some interesting (for some) information from the new Databook, which apparently isn't released yet in English.

I will update the thread when I can.

Anyway, I am making a thread after a long ass time, so respect! Joking, ofc =)

Kishimoto - Why the Kyuubi's seal is weakening, why Naruto can only go up to 4 tails in his transformation, what Karin did to Sasuke in the past, whether Kushina is still alive or not, and how Kakashi gained the Mangekyou Sharingan will all be revealed in the manga itself.

Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha

-Naruto: "The forehead protector is slightly wider"
"Actually, the main characteristic of Naruto's clothes is his forehead protector. In the earlier version the line used to show the "thickness" of the metal and the line of the cloth part were very close, and that made it kind of difficult to draw the eyebrows that were right under that. For this reason, I made the cloth wider. This made both the metal's and the cloth's thickness visible, plus the eyebrows are a lot easier to draw. Besides that I also removed the rolled up part of Naruto's pants and changed his shoes from sandals to high-cut boots. Showing too much the ankle looked childish, so I tried to fix that."
-Sakura: "Sakura changed from China-style dress to karate suit..."
"I changed Sakura's clothes from the previous China-style ones to a more lively karate suite style. I gave her boots and gloves. The upper part, though, still has a Chinaesque feeling to it, so as to make her more feminine."

"Hidan uses curses and such, so I wanted him to look similar to a shinigami. That's why he carries a scythe and bones. I originally planned the scythe to have a lot of tricks, but I didn't have time to show all of them... (LOL)."

About Itachi, let's see.. I browsed the entry (it's a bit long, I didn't read it fully, but I think my overview was decently thorough XD) and most of it just says what we already know, that is Itachi's past, what he did for the village, Sasuke etc. It doesn't say anything about his illness, his blindness or such :/ It doesn't even say anything about how he obtained his Mangekyou in detail or about Shisui, which I would've actually liked to know.. I still hope we will find out one day...

The only thing that might be interesting to know, or well, that might be useful to explain what happened in the manga, is what it says under "Naruto" and "Mangekyou Sharingan".
Under "Naruto" it says that Itachi saw Naruto as the one person able to save Sasuke and the village, that's why he told him what he did and "he put his hopes in him". And I guess also why he gave him some of his strength, though that isn't mentioned. This piece of info doesn't surprise me, but maybe some people were wondering...
Under "Mangekyou Sharingan" it says "He sacrificed himself and by having his younger brother witness his death he left him the 'Mangekyou Sharingan'. 'I will always exist, with you'... Itachi decided to continue to protect Sasuke even after his death." Judging by how it's written, it looks like the point (to get the Mangekyou, I mean) is not Sasuke killing Itachi, but Sasuke seeing Itachi die.

A grotesque jutsu that controls chakra in the form of black tentacles emerging from the body that is capable of long distance combat. Using this, Kakuzu can choose to fight close-up or faraway. Also, the tentacles can be used to grab the opponents' hearts and exploits the use of the various elements of chakra obtained, this is how he could use all the basic five types of element-based jutsus and also live as a semi-immortal with his prolonged lifespan.

Doton - Domu 土遁・土矛 (B ranked)
A highly generic/all-purpose jutsu that makes use of the chakra flowing all over the body to harden the skin in order to maximise defence and increase damage in physical offense. While its weakness is that the hardened parts of the body could not move, with the exception of Raiton (Lightning attacks), Domu is a technique that is unbreakable by everything else.

Fuuton - Atsugai 風遁。圧害 (B ranked)

Keitai Henka (形態変化) (manipulation of shape/form)
Keitai Henka manipulates the chakra form itself to create the "shape" of the ninjutsu and controls the power and area effect of the chakra. While Seishitsu Henka emphasizes and brings out the form of the chakra's elements, this particular technique is largely dependent on the user's conceptualizations, the skill's system, method of mastering it, etc. Many of the skills now are the results of the achievements of the earlier users.

Having the powers unique to his clan and reputed to be the "reincarnation of the Kijin" (refers to Zabuza), Suigetsu, together with his brother Mangetsu, dreamt to inherit the title of Shinobi Gatana (ninja swords) and this acted as their motivation to finish cruel missions day by day... Then this dream shattered with the death of his brother, and Suigetsu changed his ambition to "collecting all the swords". With the humiliation of being captured by Orochimaru, his ambition could not be fulfilled. Now that he is freed from his water prison, Suigetsu can once again walk towards his goal.

The guide contains information for 3 people who rejoiced during Gaara's revival.

Hmm well.. in Itachi's page it doesn't say anything about a "coup d'etat", it only says that the upper levels of Konoha suspected the Uchiha to have caused the Kyuubi's attack, and eventually years later Itachi was sent to exterminate them. The "Uchiha clan" page says that Itachi informed the upper levels of the Uchiha clan's planned coup d'etat. Anyway, from tidbits here and there it *does* look like Madara's story is correct, but I guess we should translate everything and only trust what's actually written.. You never know.. XD; *tends to distrust Madara*

Q3. Shipping stuff - Sakura and Hinata's feelings towards Naruto, and Sakura's towards Sasuke

First of all, there is a relationship chart in which Karin and Sakura's arrows towards Sasuke say "in love with" (好き), Hinata's arrow towards Naruto says "admires/thinks of him as a role model" (憧れ) and Sakura's arrow towards Naruto says "is worried about him" (身を案じる). Naruto and Sasuke have no arrows towards them, so that's unknown.
However, I wouldn't take those arrows too literally. If Hinata's blushing and all is "admiration", then Sakura's "is worried about him" might be something more too. It doesn't really look to me like she's still in love with Sasuke, but anyway, there are no actual proof of their love for anybody, so that cannot be deemed as certain yet.

Anyway... I read Sakura's entry. It has no "Sasuke" sections, but it does have a "Naruto" section. Which I'll translate for your pleasure XD

From Sakura's chara page, "Naruto" section:
"Since when she was a child Sakura had always felt admiration and a feeling similar to love for Sasuke. Naruto was just an "annoying" boy who stood in the middle between Sakura and Sasuke and disturbed their relationship. Welllllll..... XD;; I don't know, I kind of appreciate the pairing so I might be biased, but I think this is pretty obvious... (and YES, I assure you the translation is correct and unbiased ).

By the way, as for Sasuke and Sakura, there's only a "Promise" section that talks about her resolve to bring back Sasuke, to prevent her friends to be hurt again and such. Hmm yeah, there's not really much about Sasuke in her profile, despite the "suki" in the relationship chart XD;; I think the relationship chart kind of, uhm, only shows the characters' conscious feelings towards each other..

Hinata only has one page so it has no sections. It says about Naruto that he was the one who was able to change her and encourage her, that she admires him very much and it's thanks to him if she's the girl we now know. There's a panel of the scene when she sees Naruto for the first time after three years and the caption says "Ironically, right before Naruto, the one who changed her, Hinata's timidity still peaks." This is the only thing I can do for you NaruHina fans out there XD;;;

As for Orochimaru, it says that he was sealed by the Sword of Totsuka and now what is left of him is a faint presence inside of Kabuto. The caption leaves us wondering whether Kabuto will succeed in overpowering Orochimaru's cells inside of him or not. So yeah, I wouldn't consider Orochimaru "dead".. The great green beast gallops to great heights, with a heart and fists inherited from his master!

- Team Gai is definitely a taijutsu team. With carefully-controlled breathing, they work together flawlessly to deliver a range of attacks, cornering Kisame.
- Lee tries to learn all of Gai's techniques. Even while on missions, his training never ends.
- He works towards reaching and possibly surpassing his master. But when it comes to vigour and eagerness, he even surpasses Gai! When the two of them are together, the word "impossible" just doesn't exist any more!

For someone like Lee, who was dismissed as utterly talentless, taijutsu was his one ray of light. He has always and will always respect Gai as the main who showed him the light at the end of the tunnel and guided him along his path, and maintains his insatiable urge to keep working at improving himself. For all that Kabuto was known as Orochimaru's faithful subordinate, he was originally sent in by Sasori of "Akatsuki" for the purpose of sounding out Orochimaru's movements. However, as his self had been erased from crossing over the world, in the eternal life-seeking Orochimaru he finds a wicked light...!! And when that light was born shining, he saw his own shadow: Kabuto also found his own existance. In that moment, for the first time, Kabuto recognized himself.

Caption: He has a purpose from when he decided to serve Orochimaru. Something about him has changed.

In serving Orochimaru, he obtained confidence by having "someone" defined for him. For Kabuto, Orochimaru's defeat meant that his self disappeared as well. Because of this, Kabuto took Orochimaru, the "symbol of rebirth", into his own body. The wicked surge that pushed up from within, along with the corporal stimulus that accompanied it, gave the real "true feelings of life" to Kabuto...!!

A thorny path amidst the strife
The origin of Itachi's suffering dates back to the time when Konoha was founded. More precisely, to the dispute between the "Senju clan", which produced the Shodai Hokage, and the "Uchiha clan" led by Madara. Not even the unification of the village could mend the crack between the two sides. The village, afraid that the Uchiha might raise a rebellion, ordered Itachi to secretly investigate the clan. Meanwhile, the Uchiha sensed the government's suspicions and had Itachi spy on them. The two parties' views on justice and pride were completely incompatible, and the heart of a young shinobi was torn between them...

Many of the inhabitants believed that it was actually a "man-made disaster" provoked by the Uchiha, and eventually their suspicions turned into reality...

He deceives Akatsuki by persistently chasing after Naruto and at the same time he keeps an eye on the attitude of the village.

Unstoppable power and fury! Juugo is the source of the cursed seal!

- Juugo's murderous attack. The black curse changing his very form is a darkness that even he himself fears.
- Juugo's sociopathic alter ego appears against his will, and with it comes the guilt of the deaths it has caused. This constantly beats against his conscience, isolating him from the world.

The dark side of Konoha, supporting the tree from deep within its roots!

- The leader of the Roots makes his appearance, coinciding with Naruto's return. There is considerable tension between him and the current Hokage, granddaughter of the First and keeper of the old ways.
- These shinobi represent the way of the Roots. They are the dark side of Konoha, and act as Danzou's concealed weapons.
- Seen as the "hawk" of Konoha. In his mind's eye he sees a future of his owndesign...

Long ago, Danzou opposed Sarutobi Hiruzen in the running for the position of Hokage. His idea of a ninja is "one who sacrifices his own will completely for the wishes of his country and his village". Due to that outlook, he lost his chance at the position. Following this, he created his own personal group within the Hokage-controlled Anbu, called the Roots. He raised shinobi to conform to his will, establishing a grip on the "darkness" of Konoha. Now that the Third Hokage has died, it remains to be seen what path the Roots will take.

*Danzou has to be awkward by choosing foods peculiar to Japan.
- Hijiki: A brown seaweed that only grows around Japan's end of the Pacific.
- Genmaicha: A tea made from blending Japanese green tea and roasted brown rice.
- Warabimochi: A sweet especially popular in the Kansai region. It is made with bracken and ends up translucent, cool and sprinkled with soybean flour. This is not real mochi, but is named as such because the consistency is very similar.

Text: “Exploding clay” user Deidara was forced to experience bitterness for the first time when he fought against…Uchiha Itachi. Up until that day, those who had witnessed his art were either afraid by it, awed by it, despaired by it, or cried at the sight of it. His art is suppose to be perfect…but the Sharingan came along and challenged it. The Sharingan manipulated Deidara’s mind and made him feel fascinated by another form of art, which is something he would never do under normal circumstances.

Text: Deidara bases his actions on his view of art. Deidara believes that [one’s own work is the best]. He decided to stay in Akatsuki because the organization shares this mantra too. (My elaboration: Dei thinks that being in Akatsuki gives him more freedom than staying in Iwagakure. As in the organization wouldn’t force him to learn a new technique, or force him to discard an old one. The organization believes in giving its members the freedom to hone their own skills.)

Text: Each member of Akatsuki has their own unique talents. For Deidara, his unique talent is his flawless art. Furthermore, Akatsuki’s goal of collecting Bijuu gives Deidara more opportunities to fight strong opponents. The reward of gaining more battle experience also served as a great impetus for Deidara to stay in Akatsuki. Deidara is proud to be in the “artist group” of Akatsuki.

Text: Art – is when an object gets sublimated in an instant…it is a “bang”! The combination of that view with Ninjutsu gives birth to “exploding clay”. Deidara has several mouths (the word used means several and plural. We know that he has 4 mouths from the manga) that chew and mix his chakra together with his clay to create exploding clay. Deidara uses the exploding clay to create a variety of models. He then yells “Katsu” to create a gigantic explosion from these clay objects. The clay models make attacking on land, sea and air possible because Deidara can direct them like a remote control by using his Chakra. The destructiveness of Deidara’s exploding clay is dependent on the level of chakra that was mixed into the clay. (C1 to C4 refer to the levels of chakra that Deidara uses to infuse with his clay)

The explosive power of this type of exploding clay is small. Hence, it is chiefly used in covert actions such as surprise attacks. The design of the bombs tends to take the shape of a beetle. (Me: I always thought that they were spiders…)

Deidara rides on the back of a huge dragon made from exploding clay. The target is pursued with guided missiles, which are vomited out from the dragon’s mouth. Cooperation with a partner, who will set up land mines beforehand, will allow this move to leave a maximum impact.

Picture caption: Deidara boasted that the explosive power of the C3 was so formidable that he managed to annihilate his hometown by it. (里 means hometown and village. I am more inclined to believing that it refers to hometown here. I will check this out again once I get the Chinese databook. Text: The exploding clay takes the form of Deidara’s own appearance. When the huge Deidara-like form explodes, ultra-small bombs are scattered over a wide range. These nano-sized bombs cannot be seen by an ordinary person’s eyes. Once inhaled in, the bombs will go to every passage in the target’s body. Countless tiny explosions occur at the cellular level inside the body, causing destruction from the inside. It is only at the point of death that the target realizes that he has been attacked.

Text: The “CO”. This ninjutsu boasts the highest level of destruction from Deidara’s “exploding clay”. It is his “Ultimate Art”, and also a demonstration of his self-worth. The art he creates with his chest mouth differs from the kind created by his hand mouths. In this jutsu, chakra is taken directly from the central part of Deidara’s chakra system and kneaded with clay in his chest mouth. This process continues without stopping until the moment of the explosion. (My elaboration: The chakra system consists of channels that connect to the vital points in one’s body. I think that after chakra was kneaded into clay to make it explosive, the resultant explosive clay was absorbed into Deidara’s chakra system. That’s why his veins, which I think are actually his chakra channels, started to show.) In short, the explosion happens from inside Deidara’s body. This ninjutsu showcases the brilliance of his life’s work, and it also sublimates his being along with the surroundings.
