Four plates of brownies? Jesus! I think 'forgetting' that is term paper was slightly late is the least you can do after receiving an offering like that. I mean, FOUR FUCKING PLATES FULL?!? HOLY SHIT! That's like the amount of brownies you give someone after they save your life or some shit! Cut that dude some slack, yo!

Redneckboy: College is supposed to prepare you for the real world. It's true that they did not get the required work done on a deadline and points should be taken off (since I am lenient and I'm not going to ignore their work entirely). However, they played their audience. A huge part of the real world is knowing how to act in a difficult situation and how to appease someone that is upset. I think they've done exactly that.

Under normal circumstances, a person would be punished at a job for not doing what was expected of them on time. College isn't QUITE the real world. We're prepping them and we really ARE a bubble that protects them from all the nasty shit. Instead of the usual 30 points that I'd take off, I'm only going to take off 10. Besides the brownie gift, she also wrote a terrific essay. (Honestly, I'd almost trade the day late for something that is more refined compared to someone who turned it on time and it's shit.)

The brownies, by the by, are fuckin' awesome. One batch is cheesecake swirl and I am pretty sure I have a new favorite food.

Oh. It was a gal. I had imagined it was some guy trying to save his skin. It would be pretty lame for a guy to make brownies for a male TA/assistant-professor (assuming that is your position). If it was refined and a great essay, why not say that she did a good enough job to earn enough bonus points to negate the late points or something?
