How did Itachi kill Uchiha Shisui? Or someone else, i.e did Madara kill him

We know Uchiha Shisui is best friend of Itchi, or what we are told. But how did Itachi, not counting his present skill, without counting MS and so on, kill Uchiha Shisui? He, Uchiha Shisui, was said to be the most skilled of the Uchiha clan.

If he was that great and all, how did Itachi kill him, or did something happen at that time. E.g. Madara helping him, or Uchiha Shisui did not want to kill his best friend, or Madara is the one who actually killed him. Also it could be that Itachi gained his MS like how Kakashi got it (not that we know how).

I know Itachi is powerful and one of the best in Naruto, but at that time of the story line he was not that powerful until he got his MS. Also could Madara training Itachi helped him defeat Uchiha Shisui?

I am not that Itachi did this himself and came out with no injuries to himself.

I for one think that Uchiha Shisui, who ever he was, Madara has been taken over him/using his body, or it could be Madara in disguise.

Nicknamed "Shunshin no Shisui" (Body-Flicker Shisui), Said to be the most skilled Uchiha clan member. Madara is known for his space/time jutsu.

Any body has any idea, at least about Itachi killing Uchiha Shisui.

Well... truth to be told, I don't think we will exactly know how that went down. I'm not sure that they will reveal in the manga how Shisui died since it's irrelevant.

AND, -and this is quite a remark- I have believed that Shisui was a SHE. Itachi's LOVER to be exact. It was said in the manga I think, if I remember correctly. (I dunno, I have to look it up again) But Shisui was Itachi's best friend, and since they were already close it must not be that hard to kill somebody off if that one was close to you.

Oh, and it was definitely Itachi who killed Shisui, she/he was dead before everyone else. It was because of her/him that Itachi gained MS.

Itachi had to kill shisui when he found out itachi was spying for the senju and since shisui was like a brother "the closest person to him" he gained his MS.

the importance of telling us that itachi killed the most skilled uchiha is nothing more than to prove that itachi was the real most skilled uchiha..and ofcourse to prove how he got his MS.

I don't know about the "disguise theories" fever that spreaded in these forum but i disagree cuz it dosn't sound smart to me..(no offence)

actually the whole killing best friend thing is obv horse shit since sasuke didnt get it that way he got it by watching his brother die

itachi only said it to sasuke to mess with his head it was all part of his skillful illusion

anyway i dont think he killed shisui when itachi was confronted by uchiha cops outside his house.
he said sumit like " you shouldnt judge ppl by their appearances" which i thought it was quite similar to what he said to sasuke during the fight " ppl live their lives bound to what they think is reality"
both quotes seems like itachi tryin g to tell them theres a deeper meaning behind this

i think madara killed him and itachi saw it and got ms

I believe by now, we all understand, it's not just your best friend, or you killing them.

You achieve MS, and to this day, it's still the only stated way to obtain it, by witnessing the death of someone with whom you share a strong bond, or some close to you. This is how Sasuke gained it when Itachi died, we all know Sasuke didn't kill Itachi, and they weren't best friends. They still had a strong bond, and even for brothers, had a really close and strong relationship. Remember how much Sasuke looked up to him? Remember, Sasuke didn't see his parents die, found them dead, I assume that's not the same, and even if he had, I'll go ahead, and again, assume you can't gain the MS at all without having three spokes in your Sharingan already.

Here's the thing with Itachi vs. Shisui. Itachi had a ton of potential and, as far as I recall from the story, was skilled for his age within the clan as well. Shisui maybe have been considered the best, but who's to say Itachi didn't surpass him? Also, Itachi kind of had the advantage either way, he intended to make the kill, to Shisui, they were still friends, Itachi could have easily have just killed him before he realized what was going on. Considering they had a strong enough bond that he acquired MS from it, I'd assume it was strong enough that they trusted each other to the extent of being able to let down their guard around each other. Besides, by now, I'm pretty sure the secrets of the Sharingan weren't wide spread knowledge, so I doubt Uchihas thought to watch their backs around each other.

I'd also like to point out that Madara didn't train Itachi prior to this, any of it actually. It was more like, Itachi was drafted to wipe out his entire clan, and just happened to catch on to the fact that Madara was around when he shouldn't have been, and got to him, and worked out something where Madara could help Itachi take out the clan, thus allowing his revenge against them, for turning their backs on him. I forgot the exact details there.

My guess is that as strong as Shisui was, Itachi was stronger. Itachi killed him to gain MS. I doubt Itachi surprise attacked him. I would like to believe that he was more honorable than that.

Exactly, could not have put it any better myself. And to the guy below you, it is not about honor. Itachi seems like the SERVE NO MASTER BUT YOUR OWN AMBITION type. The Uchihas were planning a coup, who you think would have been the TWO pivotal figures in that, after all this time you have two badass proteges in shishui and Itachi. Were they on board, I dont know I think they could have done it, if Itachi alone could scare danzou like that. So shishui had to go, I think Itachi poisoned him, how else to commit suicide, he copied his handwriting through sharingan no doubt, wrote that letter and got him. I think it was nothing honorale because Itachi's dad would know about any mission he was on, and Itachi could not risk bodily injuries. That would have put the eyes squarely on him.

I could be wrong but i thought that it was said that Shusui supposedly drowned hmself. I remeber thinking, how could Itachi hold someone as strong or stronger than him under water long enough to drown him. It was made to look like a suicide, but we may never know what really happened. i think that Itachi would have had no problem killing him if he too was in with the rest of the Uchihas on taking over Konoh, but we may never know for sure
