For those who hate LOTR

Unite here. This series gets way too much credit. I really don't see how it is a good book.

Re: For those who hate LOTR

I'm having a hard time with the first book, just a lot of walking, not really remotely close to the story of the movie. Fair enough I guess.

But then again, I can't really complain since I haven't read all of the books.

Its not really our foult that you can't understand the perfection of Tolkiens epic-fantasy and writing style so I suggest: just GTFO!

He made the thread so why should he "GTFO"?

Anyways the books were pretty good, I have nothing against them.

Way too much singing, that's for damn sure. I thought the books were decent enough, but I do prefer the movies for the romanticized action and lack of singing.

I started reading the first one a year or two ago. I lost it. Thankfully.

Re: For those who hate LOTR

I find his 'writing style' nearly impossible to read without getting mentally breathy. It's utterly drab and drawn out. I wouldn't say it's complete ubber suckage [I give him mad props for doing nothing completely original and still getting a million followers] but it is over-rated by far.

Re: For those who hate LOTR

I've had the entire story for nearly three years now and I still cant finish reading it yet. I think I lost interest.
