Finance 409 is a bitch. Math is not my forte. That's not to mention the 5 other end-of-course projects, solving every minute degree technicality issues for graduation, and trying to get setup on an internship. All before Thanksgiving.

I guess I can take solace in the fact that they finally gave me my senior ring that cost me over $1k with the diamond.

Senior rings only suck if your university is a nobody university. Texas A&M University is to the South as Westpoint is to the North. We aren't fully a military college anymore, but we hold our traditions.

I'd go into how a ring is pretty much a right of passage at our university (because we have a huge drop out rate), but http://aggietraditions.tamu.edu/aggiering.shtml will explain it. It's one of the few collegigate rings that still holding true to a military design.

EDIT: I also choose to pay the $300 for the smallest diamond (.10ct) Could go to .25ct for $600 or so more. It's a symbol of the century my family has been relatively pure blood Aggies.

EDIT 2: If it tells you anything, George W. Bush and George Bush Sr. will be speaking at my graduation. Robert gates, current secretary of Defense for the US, is my university's former president (till he chose to take the position).

Why buy a ring, FG? You'll only stick a plunger in it.

Oh man, when will this become old for me?

Re: A word to the wise

Well I'm sure you are well acquainted with "Aggie jokes", then. You should also know that we aggies tell aggie jokes to make fun of our uni. Which is why Im not afraid to make fun of myself for being fat, a virgin, or taking a plunger up the ass.

EDIT: The correct saying is "my mother IS an aggie" unless she failed to graduate. One of our things is the "aggie family" ideal. Which is, should an Aggie find another aggie in a non-aggie place, it is perfectly kosher and normal to make conversation and introduce yourself, your grad year, and your field of study.

Re: A word to the wise

Rings are lame. Only rings I ever plan to buy I've already purchased: Tab's engagement and wedding rings. Maybe a 50th anniversary ring or something, but that's like forever away.

Re: A word to the wise

We'll see, Jaxon, we want to keep it small. We both think it's stupid to spend $10,000 on a wedding when a $100 one is just as effective and frees up more money for the honeymoon/down payment.
(We haven't actually talked about this specifically, and I'd have to repay her certain "favours", but I'm sure she'll agree with me)
