I don't see Kakashi dying. It wasn't made into a a big enough deal. Plus, Katsuyu has reached him.

I'm kinda thinking that kakashi is about to die. I predict that kakashi will sit down at the fire with his dad and explain his life's story. In this story we learn about most everything we ever wanted to know about kakashi and at the end we learn about something very important to the stroy line concerning tobi or something along these lines. In the end he finishes the story with his father and they move on together.

It was also kinda hinted at him dying because the blank reaction we get from tsuande when chouji ask's about kakashi is that he's most likely not savable. And the panel right after that is a morgue which i believe is kind of foreshadowing his death too.

Chouji better, he ows kakashi. Seriously though, I dont kakashis going to die. Hes barely had one full manga chapter since he ran out of chakra. People die in the narutoverse from diseases and mortal wounds. Not lack of chakra. kishi will just give kakashi a power bar and everything will be fine.

^^ I've gone back and forth on if Kakashi is departing the story. My final conclusion is based on the same reasonings as what you mentioned above. Usually a death serves a purpose in any good story. The ONLY purpose I can detect would be that this battle will result in the utter devistation of Konoha for quiet awhile. Two of some of the strongest Konoha heros could be killed off (Tsunade and Kakashi), Danzou is moving in to replace Tsunade, and half the village is destroyed. This seems to me to create a world of despair for everyone who lives there.

Speaking of great stories, to me, it would be the hero turning the worst of circumstance around for the better. But otherwise, yeah, there is no other reason and unless Kishi plans on painting that bleak and cheerless story, Kakashi will live.

Kakashi isnt going to die, because tsunade even said that if they get THEM(choza and kakashi) to the hospital, THEY might still have a chance. kakashi isn't dead yet.

I'm actually pretty sure Kakashi isn't dead> I don't know if anyone has brought up this point, but Pakuan and the other nin dogs would no longer be part of the series if Kakashi died. And I doubt Kishi would not have Pakuan and the other nin dogs make an appearance before they were gone. So, I doubt Kakashi is dead.

Ok, here are some good points in my mind:
#1: kakashi is not dead.
#2: I will not believe he is dead until i see his F***ing grave.
#3: Sakura and kakashi will not end up together.
#4: kakashi is not dead because tsunade said that if choji gets THEM(chouza and kakashi) to the hospital, the THEY might still have a chance. it totally makes sense!!

#5: Kakashi is not dead because he didn't get a huge fight.

hasn't anyone noticed that when itachi, jiriaya, and asuma died, they all got a huge, dramatic fight to let them go with a bang? kakashi didnt get much of a fight. all i got from it was that he and the akimichis were fighting pein, and then WHAM he ends up half buried under some rock. i mean, come on. he isn't dead.

The nindogs are on the same contract basis as the frogs, turtle, manda, and katsuya; so it is concievable that some other living ninja could have their name on it. Even if they didn't, Kakashi dying wouldn't make the scroll explode, someone else could find it and make a contract on it.

I think if Kakashi died, it should be without a huge fight. Huge fights like that are fan service, but if he was just murdered or something, that would probably shock Naruto/Sakura more and show them that he isn't invulnerable.

Obviously they know he isn't, and with Jiraiya's death, Naruto isn't completely naive, but it would drive the point home harder if someone he loved got a grim, hopeless death.

But that's probably thinking too hard and expecting too much character development from a manga.

Not everyone dies a hero's death, and it is always darkest before the dawn.

As much as I hate to draw a parallel between ANYTHING I like to Harry Potter, consider the death of that Digger guy. He was supposed to be like the best in his class or something, and couldn't do shit to prevent his death. Didn't even put up a fight. That probably shaped Potter's character to realise that even great people can die horrible deaths, and it isn't like a game or fairy tale. He was just flat out killed.

yeah, i see where ur comign from. but if naruto loses both his teachers like at the same time, it just doesn't make sense. ive been expecting kakashi to become the next hokage ^_^ or shikamaru.
