Wines, how did I forget about wines?!

Porto wine hands down. Like every Muslim should go at least once to Mecca, every beverage appreciator should drink at least once that fantastic wine.

Neat I only drink Irish Whiskey, Scotch and some good rums as well. There aren't many other liquors I like neat, that's why I like longdrinks or classic cocktail (not that frilly umbrella stuff).
Bitter or sour is also my kind of taste, don't like the sweet cocktails.

But Num, you should also have a male drinking buddy to drink scotch with and smoke cigars. You can't discuss the important things in life with many women. Sometimes it has to be a bro.

Edit: I like as well Mal. And I am getting slower with the typing. Damn Gin & Tonic. Had a Portwine already Num, not my thing this "wine"...

Numinous - How'd I figure as soon as wine was mentioned, you'd go an mention Porto? Seriously, had a few Portuguese wines (because they were cheap as dirt in comparison) and they were generally good, knowing that they couldn't have been the best the country produced. So I have a high opinion.

I like red wines a lot more anyway - which is bad because Ontario makes terrible reds. Been drinking a lot of Melbecs from South America because, for a mix, they are very good and go with everything.

I need an educated male buddy for that, my friends are more beer & wine. But I'm happy my gf likes the booze like I do (although she prefers them a little sweeter).

The quotations in the wine word angers me!!!!

Because Porto=wine. Just go to the riverside streets and all you'll see is wine cellars and advertisements.

And if you like red wines, Portugal and Spain are without a doubt the best producers, so I recommend them heartily.

I figure it is time for another try of the 10 Year Laphroaig I have in my closet. Normally, I don't like the taste of this scotch, but I'll give it another try now. I'll report back.

Tabitha's grandparent brought me 9yo Laphroaig back from Scotland. I much prefer Glenfiddich or even Glendower.

He's lucky I love cooking. Tonight, I'm surprising him with baked pork with a lemon-dill sauce, mashed turnips and spinach. The sauce and turnips are new to me, but I figure I'll make a roux, pour in some milk and drop in some lemon zest and dill. I guess I'll treat the turnips like potatoes. Excited for new flavors! Should I document this meal?

Port: wine fortified with brandy?
I had a glass once; it was SO strong, and not that great. not as great as a nice dry Red anyways.

I've never tried a South American red wine... currently i
ve been enjoying Spanish wine and Austrian wine.
I had a home made wine the other day and was surprised with how lovely is was. I was then given a bottle, which i'm saving for when Zero comes over.

I think you were scammed there, Tabris. Port wine isn't fortified with brandy, only cheap knockoffs are. Port wine is fortified with aguardente and in the mutage of the wine it goes away faster than it got in (aguardente is ridiculously volatile), so it should only leave a slight sweetness and a very subtle raise in the alcohol content.
