Watched it on tv, FUCK YEAH.

Robb Stark is smarter than he seems. But surely without the House of Arryn, the rest of the Baratheons, and the Greyjoys (surely they should be using Theon as what he is, a political hostage for bargaining?) the Starks still seem doomed against the Lannisters and royal forces. Nice trick with the spy though.

I the only person who is expecting the Targaryen/Dothraki army to sweep across the kingdoms at the very end of the story pretty much unopposed?

Everyone seems to be forgetting about them between the political conflict and the mystery of the white walkers. I can see the Targaryen/Dotharaki forces acting like the Norwegians in Hamlet.

I know it's partially based on the War of the Roses, with the Starks obviously being the House of York and the Lannisters being Lancaster - but Old Hamlet/fear of ghosts = the White Walkers, Claudius, Gertrude, Hamlet etc. = civil war.

The Dothraki horde one way or another is going to fuck shit up.

I'd say that everyone is ignoring the Others (the while walkers), rather then the Dothraki horde. Osha said to Bran "Your brother is leading his army in the wrong direction.".

Yeah, that was a pretty epic scene with Drogo. Whats just as telling as him defeating dude barehanded, and ripping out his tongue, is when he threw said tongue into a large pile of what looked like other freshly dismembered body parts. All in a mornings work for the king of the dothraki tribe.

Ah, Game of Thrones... so much I could say, but will instead wait till all 10 episodes are aired. Don't know that I'm as good as Shrike in the discussing things like I don't know what's going to happen next. However, the dothraki violence has been enjoyable.

Also, began re-reading the series in prep for Dance with the Dragons. I'm actually impressed how much the miniseries has gotten spot on with novel. I knew that certain character traits and scenes were from the book or close enough, but some are direct rips. Just read Tyrion double slapping Joffrey in front of Sandor... pretty much as is in the show as the book. Very cool.
