Nothing to do with history actually. Because I dont know, something about the qing era doesn't seems fit for a kungfu movie. Maybe because they have guns, or maybe the hairstyle.

Re: The Longest Thread Ever v28

Was at work today with my bro and we were laughing at some chobbit (chubby hobbit) who was eating a tollhouse cupcake while browsing our fine selection of dog squeak toys, when we suddenly both noticed a slight swaying of the earth beneath us. At first I thought I was experiencing some vertigo shit or some shit, but my brother said he was feeling something and the water in my water bottle was rippling too.

The chobbit didn't notice anything, but she is a disgusting abomination and was probably too fixated on her cupcake to feel shit. Holy fuck, I hate fat chicks. Especially ones walking around stuffing their faces with pastries in public. Have they no shame?! Goddamn.

But yeah, ended up being an earthquake in Virgina or some shit, and it was felt all through the east coast. Never experienced an earthquake. So pretty neato and shit. Fuck yeah.

I ended up sleeping through the earthquake (cuz I work 3rd shift and was tired as fuck when I got home), but I've felt them before. I didn't even know there was one until I saw it on facebook.

Re: The Longest Thread Ever v28

Yeah, I heard about that. Through a 4chan post saying how it was on the scale of Fukoshima and how the White House had been torn in half, and that D.C. was in a state of chaos and disorder.

I'm starting to think it may not be the best place to get my news.

Yeah, I lived in cali when I was really really young (I was almost 3 when we moved back to michigan). My mom recalls watching the toaster dance across the counter a few times. She'd slept through a few earthquakes and didn't know it until she went outside and saw a giant crack in the sidewalk. A lot of the time she chalked the shaking up to construction or something.

Apparently Buffalo (Western New York) got a bit of tectonic action too. Of course, most people are probably lying about feeling it. It's fucking Buffalo, only thing extreme here is the poverty and snowstorms (which Canada laughs at).

Re: The Longest Thread Ever v28

Well, if current global warming and fresh water run-off predictions are correct, the Atlantic Current is likely going to stop bringing you guys warm water in the winter. So global warming will actually mean colder, harsher winters for you East Coasters. Have fun with that.

Re: The Longest Thread Ever v28

'Merica know's I am coming, and it fears me.

Also a few months ago we had "reports" of an earthquake in Perth. I proceeded to lol and call anyone who believed it a fucktard as anyone who knows about tectonic plates know's Australia like Perth is in the middle of fucking nowhere, and if we did by chance happen to cop a earthquake strong enough to shake up Perth it wouldn't just hit the CBD.

It later turned out that a RAAF jet hit sonic boom over a suburb where all the reports were coming from. causing a few windows and such to shake.

The North American tectonic plate extends to halfway into the Atlantic Ocean. So Virginia is a very stable state. It's extremely rare for the East Coast to get earthquakes, but they travel a good distance because the earth is more dense in the New England states. Until geologists can figure out where it originated from, there's currently no known fault line in the area they hypothesize is the origin point of the quake. The closest seismic zone is easily 20 miles to the south west.
