Re: The Longest Thread Ever v28

So I finally got around to setting up my printer to upload the pictures off my phone (my computer doesn't have a MicroSD card port on it and my printer was in storage) and sorted through the 178 pictures I took of various things at Carnival of Chaos. Now for some shots of the festivities.

Excuse any graininess or blur due to the phone only have a 3 megapixel camera and crappy lighting even with the flash.

Most of the bands that played are local bands that are using the show to gain some publicity to go beyond bar shows. There were, I think, like 10 bands that weren't local of the 50ish total.

The place was a giant clusterfuck of disorganization. It was fun, but disappointing. Hatebreed, Kittie, and Dope all cancelled for different reasons (will explain in the day breakdowns), and several side attractions were cancelled (midget wrestling, lingerie pillow fights, female body oil wrestling, body suspension, and the devil dolls stunt riders) without any announcements to the fans. Each day had several delays that pushed the bands sets back. Only one stage was put up for 50ish bands when it was announced for 3 stages. Several of the bands didn't know how long their sets were so they kept checking with the crew, one band even had their set shut down in the middle of a song (everything but the mic was cut). I had fun, but I'm not sure if I'm going to go to it next year, if it happens.

Day 1

Fable of Deceit - My friend's band (the one that sold me the tickets), he's the guitarist (on the right).
FoD 1
FoD 2
FoD 3

Paradigm - I have no idea why they were wearing druidic robes, but most of them ditched them after a song or 2 because it was 90 degrees out and there was little in the way of shade. By little I mean there was shade on the stage, sort of, and our tents. They had a good sound to them.

Mine Enemies Fall (my favorite band of the first day).

I met the singer a couple times over the weekend (they were camping at the venue as well), he gave me and my friend a few free tickets to a show they were playing the next weekend, which I had to miss because of work. Dude was cool as hell.

I say "first" and "second" guitarist because I honestly wasn't paying much attention to who was lead and who was rhythm, the music was that good. I'm almost certain the first guitarist was lead, though.

Drummer 1
Drummer 2
Drummer, bassist, guitarist. At the end of their set the drummer declared that he was black (it's rare for a black man to be in a metal band, let alone a metal band's drummer), to which everyone cheered.

That's all for Day 1. Hatebreed was supposed to headline it, but they cancelled because the band and the guy running the show couldn't agree on a contract so they went their separate ways (after supposedly telling each other to fuck off). Hatebreed then went on to play a free show 20 minutes down the road that same night. Not a damn thing was announced to the people at Carnival. We found out from the friend in Fable of Deceit.

Day 2

2 hour delay due to the crew working on Mushroomhead's set and sound checks. So during that time, a small band set up at the back of the camping area and were just jamming. They're called "Mental Breakdown", and were lacking a singer, but it was still cool.

The singer's mic had a part that looked kinda like brass knuckles on one side of it, there was a spike that pointed down at the bottom of the mic and a spike that pointed away from the mic. So there were times he acted like the mic was a gun (the bottom had an opening to look like a barrel)/needle to inject drugs with. He was also goofy as hell and would randomly try jumping onto the keyboardist's back.

Re: The Longest Thread Ever v28

Last, but not least, I present blurry images of Mushroomhead (due in part by the crappy camera on my glorified watch of a phone and the fact that I couldn't maintain any balance for more than 5 seconds standing on the very edge of a moshpit and with dozens of crowd surfers falling on me). The effects with the drums is from water.

That's all for Day 2. Mushroomhead's show was awesome, but would've been better if they had a bigger stage and a longer set (due to the delay they were dropped from a headliner length of more than an hour to about 35-45 minutes). I'm hoping to see them, along with Blue Felix, again in October when they play in Flint, MI.

Day 3 was a bust. About 4 local bands played then we were hit by a massive storm (60-70 mph winds, tornado warnings, the works for the Midwest). After the storm cleared, there was at least 4 inches of mud out by the stage (they had that area closed to the fans for a few hours). Kittie and Dope were told to cancel by production (without alerting the fans, I might add). But they intend on making it up to the fans by holding a free show sometime this winter. The local bands were told they could play, but they had to haul their own gear through the mud and set it up themselves. No one in production decided it would've been a good idea to go get some boards or something to put on the mud to make the treks easier.

But, my friend and I got to hang out with a member of one of the bands that got screwed out of playing (friend offered her some beer so we were just bullshitting for a couple hours). It started because my friend and I saw her wandering through the camping area in her stage outfit and wanted to get a picture of her, then it evolved to getting a picture with her, then to giving her some beer, then to bullshitting and hanging out for a while.

Me with the keyboardist/samples for the local band Breech and Destroy. She is literally 4'10" and weighs 85 pounds.
Her posing next to some random car we happened to be walking past.
And her raping the car.

Re: The Longest Thread Ever v28

Oh, I have pics of those, but I don't want to give the baby blues fapping material. I took pics of the wet t-shirt contest on the first night. Then there were a couple of hotties (one from the camp next to mine and the other from across the "road") that let me take a picture of them topless and together.

And for your "I don't know any of those people" comment: with the exception of Hatebreed, Kittie, Dope, Mushroomhead, Blue Felix, and Ventana, all of the bands that played are local to the Southwest Michigan area.

Quotes for noobs (learn how to break up a quote)
Quote:

So you can post the second bit and i shouldnt be allowed to if i dont tell you? Why be so rude?

Anyways, here is a quotes for noobs guide

1. A basic quote

[*QUOTE][*/QUOTE]

(the * need to be removed for it to work, I put them in so you can see the text) is a basic quote that just wraps something in a quote without saying who quoted it who quoted so

[*QUOTE]this is a quote[*/QUOTE] without any * would look like
Quote:
this is a quote

Edit: there is a button for this, it looks like a speech bubble. If you select text and then press the button the selected text will automatically be wrapped with the quote tag

2. A quote that says who said it

[*QUOTE=who said it][*/QUOTE] this adds who said the post, manually putting that there can be useful when quoting something external. Example:

[*QUOTE=Mangastream]Remember all you sexy bastards out there, Naruto, Bleach, OP, FT, etc. all on break this week. Feel free to take your rage out on us[*/QUOTE] without any * would look like
Quote:

3. A quote that says who said it and links to the post where it was said

[*QUOTE=who said it;X][*/QUOTE]

Where X is the post number.

For the post that i originally quoted it would look like this

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey, how do you break it up please and if your not willingly to tell me, then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]

That is what you get when you press the quote button.

4. Breaking up a quote

Now that you know how quotes work it all boils down to preference, how you want it to look like and how you want to do it.

One way of doing it is copying the latter part of the original quote [*/QUOTE] and then pasting it after each section you break up, write your reply, choose the text you want then paste it after that portion, repeat till you finish the go back and copy then paste the first part of the text at the beginning of each portion of text. Of course you can immediately copy and paste both parts of a poste so that you dont forget one in the end.

The end result would be something like this

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey,[*/QUOTE]
My reply 1
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164] how do you break it up please[*/QUOTE]
my reply 2
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]and if your not willingly to tell me, [*/QUOTE]
my reply 3
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]
my reply 4

Which without any * would look like

Another way of doing it would be to cut and paste the second part of the quote tag after the first section of text you want to seperate then write your reply select the second part and hit he quote button (it looks like a text bubble),if you do that without anything else the end result would be

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey,[*/QUOTE]
My reply 1
[*QUOTE] how do you break it up please[*/QUOTE]
my reply 2
[*QUOTE]and if your not willingly to tell me, [*/QUOTE]
my reply 3
[*QUOTE]then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]
my reply 4

Which would look like

Quote:

my reply 4

To make it like the previous example (which wpuld be preferred, though not necessary ) copy the part that says who posted with the link to the post and paste it accordingly to the proper part in each first half of each quote tag. In my I would copy =minato uchiha;2118164 and paste it where the # is
[*QUOTE#] to get [*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164] (of course with the * removed)

Of course you can use any other method you like to get to the end result, but now that you know what the end rwsult looks like I think there shouldnt be any problems

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Being Malaysian is about driving in a German car to an Indian restaurant for an Indonesian food, then travelling home, grabbing a Pakistani kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV. Because we have no originality.
