Should have told me. I'd make some bear jerky. Im not much of a hunter, but I do process deer for my hunting party (dad, uncles, coworkers, etc). Deer is very lean and tough to eat (imagine an over cooked dried steak). You have to tenderize it with chemicals or beating it with a hammer. Typically, I either make deer sausage, jerky, or chicken fried deer. I wonder if bear is as tough of a meat.

Oh, and the indsides of a deer are greyish white with the exclusion of the liver, heart and poop sack. JUst for anyone wanting to know.

Next time I get a deer (Thanksgiving or so) and process it, I might make enough to send some vacuum-sealed deer jerky out. That is ofcourse assuming you'd take a package.

My dad was stock-piling deer jerky for his trip up north, I don't know if he left any, though.

Stuff is 10x better than beef jerky, and it is nearly fat free. Good lean and filling snack.

I only had a little bit of my dad's before he seemingly took it all, but it was indeed delicious.

Don't they sell it in stores around you all in Canada? I know in the deer hunting towns in Texas, the gas stations sell locally made deer jerky. I usually buy atleast a pound or two ($20-30) for the 8 hour drive back to Dallas.
